Chaos Space Marines My Way! Make Mini Painting FUN again! REAL TIME
Added 2022-04-14 18:41:00 +0000 UTCI want to start a long-term conversation about how painting is painting no matter what medium you are working on, and this is the first step into that mental space that has centuries of knowledge and academic knowhow that we can actually use in practical miniature painting!
Our little community is still deeply into the step-by-step, mechanical way of doing things and too often trapped into the techniques and the aesthetic rules dictated by commercial studio styles that are, let’s face it, an artistic dead-end and I noticed, cause a lot of “unhappy painting” in a many fellow painters…
What I want to do with this topic and this series of videos is to go back to the roots of painting (just painting, not miniature painting) to rediscover how fun, simple, personal and satisfying it can be by simply tapping into the right mindset and the proper flow!
So, keep in mind and be actively conscious of the “From General to Particular” rule in every stage of your work and (I know this is a bit more… abstract!) try to follow more the mental, illustrational image you have of the subject and the final result than the actual sculpted shapes using a more abstract flow of brushstrokes and paint application because we are going to build a ton of ideas over these two foundational pillars 😉
