Hello my Chads

Right now Patreon is processing payments for September. At the end of the month it gives me a list of people who quit their pledge before the payment date then re-subbed immediately after. Avoiding payment.

Since none of my reward tiers cost me money I don't super care when people do that, but I do feel it somewhat cheats people who want to support me and do give me money, money which I am investing into a better mic, sound card, and a make-shift recording studio.

I'm going to be releasing more patreon-exclusive content within the coming months so before then I'm going try and see if I can reduce the number of people avoiding payments without having to activate "pre-payments" because if I turn that on if you join this patreon at the end of a month it will force you to pay twice.

And that...I don't like that.

But if you're reading this on the day it was posted that means you are someone who has paid and therefor a true chad.

So to compensate for the lack of Patreon-ing I've been doing, let me share with you my future plans.

I have Two videos I am contractually obligated to make this month, though neither contract has been actually signed by either party. I'm still waiting on resources to be sent to me to finish the first, and the second is the fallout from a failed attempt to get a major company to sponsor a tank for Ukraine (when you see the sponsor you'll understand). 

Because both contracts have not been signed I could turn around and say no to both of them and I am honestly tempted to, but there other things going on in my life and not only am I in need of the money, I also value the friendships I am making with the perspective ad companies.

To put it short my ads are profitable to these companies, way more profitable than other Youtubers of my respective subscriber count. Because of this it is opening the doors to sponsor opportunities someone with under a million subs would often not be considered worthy of. 

This means I can take on bigger sponsors, more outrageous ads, but also less of them. I'm not money hungry and I don't have huge overheads, I don't want a million-dollar apartment or a Lamborghini and really the only vanity thing I bought myself was socks that didn't have holes in them.

Such Luxury!

That means if I land a big sponsor I never have to say yes to things like "Clash Mobile", "Extreme fishing the game 2021" or that one guy who wanted me to pimp his quite literal pyramid scheme. And instead, use the money to keep myself afloat to work on longer, more in-depth videos that don't have sponsors and are not monetized.  

The likelihood of this actually happening, however, is doubtful. But regardless I am making some big changes in my life.

I currently live in a shitty apartment in the ass-end of England. I moved here for work, work which fell apart during Covid, and then my YT took off, meaning I don't have to stay here.

Being that I live in a cheap apartment above a shop and a pub that is frequented by England's oldest, and angriest men, who smoke like fucking chimneys, talk louder than a freight train, and complained to the council when I put up a rainbow flag for pride "I don't mind them gays but Children walk past here, what if one of them sees it!" said a morbidly obese man smoking a literal cigar and breathing his toxic ass fumes all over the same sidewalk that children apparently frequent. 

So I am moving out, I want to go back home but Scotland, and in particular Edinburgh, is an expensive place to rent. There are cheaper apartments but at least 100-200 people apply for each one and the application process for renting has grown into such extremes it's less complicated to just buy a house. (which is not an option btw, look up House Prices in Edinburgh)

Basically, if you have to justify to a landlord why you are the perfect tenant, then you are not the perfect tenant. And a social awkward self-employed Youtuber is a weird thing to consider, and has led to some bizarre interactions one of which pulled up a SunnyV2 video on Shane Dawson which he used as justification to why ALL Youtubers eventually fall, forgetting to mention exact why Shane Dawson fell from grace, that Shane Dawson is still worth *millions* and that I am not Shane Dawson.

This means I have to bribe a landlord by paying a lot of rent up front, way more than the preferred demographic of Students and People wanting to start AirBnB's and Microhotels would be willing to pay. Which is a lot more money than I currently have.

Annoyingly some problems cannot be solved by drinking wine and screaming.

Regardless as of next year I hope to be in a new home, one less 'intense' than this apartment, where I can relax and my mental health isn't constantly being challenged by the lower end of England's IQ spectrum.

If so, I aim to start taking on less sponsors regardless if or not those hypothetical doors are open to me or not. Mostly because I am sitting on a lot of scripts for long, detailed videos that deep dive into a lot of complicated issues. Including the long-awaited Pierre Sprey video, stuff on holocaust denial (don't worry I am not a denier), and more stuff on Putin, Russian Propaganda, and why ex-marines are more commonly acceptable to its influence.

I'd like to do these videos without having to pause half-way in to talk about a sponsor, and it is also likely these videos will not be monetized.

But no one ever gets into History for the money and the rock 'n' roll lifestyle.
