Tuberville's stubborn refusal to allow the promotions list to be adopted by unanimous consent because the Pentagon pays for women to travel to get around abortion bans may have impacts that we don't understand and cannot understand unless we get attacked. The 9/11 Commission pinned part of the blame for the attacks getting through on the delay in the start of transfer of duties due to the delay in wrapping the 2000 election. That was only a month or so; Tuberville is holding hostage hundreds of promotions for several months now, and at some point, people are going to get frustrated and retire (if it hasn't started already), affecting our war fighting capability. Tuberville risks getting primaried if he backs down now. Democrats risk other senators pulling this on other issues if they back down. There is no clean solution immediately visible.

It should be their need to replace credulousness with healthy cynicism and valuing fact checking, instead of taking everything a politician, pastor, or conspiracy theorist, all claiming to be speaking for Jesus, says "on faith." I am a believer and see this all around me, and it is very painful to watch those who claim to follow Jesus - who identifies Himself as the Truth - believe easily disproven lies and those who spout them.
