When the US has had periods in which political violence was particularly high what tools brought it back down? Are those tools still available and are they being used effectively?

2023-05-15 03:26:24 +0000 UTCWill the Proud Boys who have been found guilty make appeals? Or have they already? If so, on what grounds? It seemed like there were many times throughout the trial that items the judge allowed from the prosecution and other "judgements" he made that might be questioned. (At least that was the understanding I had from several of Parloff's live tweets. I could be all wrong on that of course!) He did an incredible job reporting on the case, btw!
