Jesus, I completely forgot about that aspect. Although to be completely fair, Lex didn't have any friends so I personally feel like that's justifies Lex being around Clark. And then things get weird when Lana gets involved.

Yeah I enjoyed their relationship a lot. Though its always gonna have that weird aspect of a 20 something year old hanging around and being deeply invested in the lives of high schoolers.

Actually to give Smallville Clark even more credit, to this day that show still has bar none the best depiction of Clark & Lex's relationship.
Most of their antagonistic relationship is being simple but extremely well done foils of each other. But in Smallville, it's a tragedy of 2 extremely close friends having a massive falling out with one to another. To even make it even more sad, one of the major reasons why Lex became more villainous was because Clark kept doubting him to the point he couldn't give him the benefit of the doubt. What's especially tragic was that one episode showed that Lex would've kept Clark's secret but then he lost his memory over it.

fr. I'm not a huge superman nerd but Smallville Clark has gotta be my favorite version of him tbh

Smallville was arguably Clark at his most human & relatable. It saddens me since people still consistently ridicule Superman being neither of those things & gives me the impression that Smallville has been forgotten by the general public

I like it well enough. Not the biggest fan of how they do some of the villains. Main draw for me is Clark and Lois even if they’re not my favorite interpretations of em. I have a Smallville bias. Animation has its ups and downs.

So how do you feel about the show? From what I can understand, the reception is a lot more mixed than I thought it would be
