Thank you so much for all the responses!
Here's the results 💜
There were some questions I didn't include, as I deemed them more for my personal use. Thank you for choosing to support me. Your responses help future works (and I already have started applying them!)
What do you think of the results?
I find it very interesting that hard yandere is divisive
Soft Yandere & Gentle is universally adored
An almost equal appreciation for story heavy ASMR and not story heavy ASMR
Almost equal preference to Flirting/Romantic ASMR & Supportive/Romantic Romance
There's less preference to Familial/Platonic ASMR, but there's still a good # of you interested in it
And surprisingly, almost taboo is quite accepted
As for the themes, "battle" stood out as being more than half not caring or not liking it as much, while other themes were things most look forward to
Nature & Urban settings have similar results, while Space is lukewarm in comparison. Medieval's a pretty popular theme. As for Medieval, it's something I also want to do more of, but my room's soundproofing is still incomplete. I've spent a pretty penny and it's still not enough... But I hope some near future arrangements can help further improve my recording environment.
As for your comments...
I meant to include Sci-Fi under Space, but I realize now that Sci-Fi also covers things such as Time Travel, and even to an extent, Magic (depending on the media). That's my miss!
For ASMR Ambience: I'd rather include them than exclude them, but I may lower its volume even more when there's a focus on the trigger such as personal care/personal attention.
Noted on the disconnected story-trigger-story approach. Several of my past works had varying # of changing scenes, and I understand now it can throw someone off a loop, especially when they're already getting used to the scene and the triggers. In non-story ASMR it makes sense as usually it's a 30 minute or so compilation of different triggers and no dialogue (or minimal) but for a story heavy ASMR, going from one scene to the next in a matter of a couple of minutes can be confusing and stop the listener from settling in. I'll be paying attention to future scripts and ASMRs to lessen frequent scene changes, unless absolutely necessary.
one character/concept for more than one audio: i know in the asmr rp scene, it's much more common to leave a character behind then move on to the next. as a listener myself, i don't like it when i find out that there's no more continuation. sometimes, i just NEED that part 2. while not every ASMR gets a part 2 from my performances, I make it a point to make an ASMR series every now and then. I'm glad you're of the same opinion as I am.
As for no roleplay remark, thank you, that is something I'm definitely open to doing! I'm not sure in what form yet, so no promises.
flirty/sensual ASMR: i agree on this. It's either full on NSFW spicy, or wholesome. Rarely are there ASMRs these days released where there's romantic & sensual tension between the listener and the speaker without going over the line. Well, at least the ones I listen to or find. It's been difficult to find new ASMR because personally I avoid ASMR with AI art cover, or if the ASMRtist didn't credit the illustrator. If you listen to ASMRtists who do though, I wouldn't hate/dislike you for it, it's just a personal preference.
For metal sounds, would metal earpicks suffice? I sometimes use them. Maybe I should use them more often.
For echo sound effects, there might be on in the future. I received a commission that involves echo! And I believe it turned out very tingly around the mid-point. It was weird to me that early on, it didn't feel special but it started being tingly around the mid-point.
New sounds/triggers: i hear you. There's a few unpopular things I have lying around, I might play with them sometime in the distant future. One thing I absolutely adore and miss playing with is the wooden frog.
As for hairplay, I know what you mean. I've tried simulating it with just ear rubs or gently touching the 3DIO, but it is just not the same. I recently ordered a wig and mannequin head, I'm not sure if the sound im looking for will be picked up by the 3DIO easily or if I should use my portable recorder
