Making realistic slime/gore for props SIMPLE and FAST!
Added 2021-07-31 04:48:57 +0000 UTCHey guys, I wanted to share this quick method to add a bit of gore to your props that REALLY change up the look of it and add so much depth to the overall look of the piece. This isn't only needed for gorey thing, you can also use this for any kind of slime/glaze you way need! Experiment, mix in some glitter, do all kinds of things.
Anycase, onto what I used it for. So for my Chainsawman Helmet I wanted a look to it like he had just attacked something and wanted a bit of gore on the prop so in order to get the shine needed for that I grabbed some 5 minute epoxy.

Its in a syringe so all you need to do is put the mixture onto a paper plate and use the popsicle stick provided with the product and mix it around till its fully mixed (similar to resin). For the teeth I kept it clear and gave the teeth and gums a light glaze to replicate saliva/the moisture a mouth would have.
I spread it with a cheap brush, make sure your brush doesnt have any loose bristles and if one does come loose you can take some tweezers and carefully take them out of the mix.

For the gore of the head I mixed together some black/red paint into the epoxy (This stuff cures FAST so work VERY quickly)

Then it was just a matter of brushing it into the prop, do this is small amounts. While its a cool effect you really do not want to overdo it.

This epoxy takes 24 hours to properly cure and also has a slight odor to it so make sure you apply this and leave the prop in a well open ventilated area (I still have this in the garage to make sure it airs out completely)
Hope this helps you out and gives you some ideas to take your props to the next level! : D
