Update Post! April 27th (April Hand-Picked request song, 2 May Madness songs revealed!)

Good afternoon/evening/morning Patrons!

April is almost over but I still plan on getting one last song out for you before  we get into May Madness: Sky High from Dynamite Headdy, which should be ready by the end of the weekend. I'll have a preview coming your way sometime tomorrow!

Before I discuss May Madness stuff, there's one thing I have to get to before I forget: my hand-picked request list choice for the month! 

Tidal Rush from Splatoon 2, requested by loversoblivion! I feel like I play far too much Splatoon 2 to not have done a song from it, so we might as well throw this one on the to-do list for later. :D

On to some May Madness reveals! I mentioned in the May Madness discussion post that I'd be going for a 7 song breakdown similar to last year: 3 new songs and 4 remakes. The 3 new songs this year will be 3 currently on the to-do from our previous drawings: Boss Theme (Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg), Fly to Live I (Thunder Dragon 2), and Mining Melancholy (Donkey Kong Country 2). 

You all brought up a lot of different songs for remake requests in the May Madness discussion post, a lot of them were requested more than I was expecting! It actually gave me some ideas for future remakes that I hadn't considered before. I'm taking all of the suggestions into consideration, so I'm not entirely going by raw count, but the first two I'm going to reveal to you today were the most submitted in the comment section of the discussion post, that I'd totally love to redo:

I definitely didn't expect this to have the highest remake request count... but low and behold: a Count Cannoli from Wario: Master of Disguise remake was tied for the most requested from you all, and will be getting a fresh coat of 2018 GaMetal paint. I actually really love this song and I commonly use it to test sound changes. The 2014 version was ok and all but could really use the upgrade, especially now that I truly know the song.

Not as surprising as Cannoli, but another I wasn't really expecting to have the highest count: Meridian Dance from Secret of Mana! Yet another song I did in 2014 that could really use the sound upgrade. I commonly joke that I forget that I did this song sometimes, haha. I was a fan of this song the first time I heard it, before I even played Secret of Mana, so I'm really looking forward to redoing this one (especially with my new bass!).

I'll be deciding on the other 2 May remakes during the week and will reveal them to you on the next stream recap, which should be around May 5th. If you haven't let me know your suggestions yet, feel free to do so on the May Madness discussion post! 

Even after May, we still have an extremely hefty to-do list to knock out. We still have another hand-pick and 2 drawing songs coming from the May drawing (oh yeah, I forgot to mention, we reached yet another extra drawing milestone goal!). I'll be trying to knock out as much as possible during the months of June and July, aiming to have the list completely caught up in time for Patreon Appreciation Month in August.

A super early prediction for June is looking like Courtney Gears Battle, Unknown from M.E., Save the World, Steel Beowulf, and FFMQ Battle 1. If I can knock out those 5 in June, that will leave us with Tidal Rush, the May drawing winners and hand-picked song, and June's drawing winner(s?) and hand-picked song. 

By the way, I didn't forget about April Fools. Obviously it's... not going to be in April this year, haha. But I have a great idea in mind for a left-field song that I'm going to try to start getting together after May Madness. I'll keep you all informed when I get some things confirmed!
