i was so excited when they dropped this mv— partially because i love the song and also because i wanted to hear your reaction to it lol
i love the idea that even if a label is positive (princess, goddess) or even just neutral (pup, hamster), it still restricts a person’s identity and puts them in a box. who you are is so much more complex than the image others provided with. i genuinely think it’s such a beautiful message.
i’m also a big fan of the choice to take the stills and zoom in on them because i feel like SO much of kpop is fans (or non-fans) taking pictures, screenshots, 2 second clips, putting clips in slow motion and using these little things to judge, make assumptions, and slander.

I feel like one of the Korean words in the "They call me ___" part sounding like "clone" in English had to be intentional, calling out the people who say they're a copy of a certain other group.

This with "not cute anymore" in context is just perfect

"I love how the zoomed-in parts of the picture
feel like sasaengs or people on the internet are
desperately searching for reasons to hate on
them."

such a fun song! very unexpected from illit to me ahaha but yes tingtings also came to my mind ahahah! the MV is very unique, I have never seen that zoom in and zoom out on a simple jpg in other mvs! its so simple, but i was locked in for the whole thing! and the lyrics are very relatable :)
