i think at this point most of these shows have just been going in debut order in terms of performance order which can allow for interesting moments like this

So NCT is simply “old” at this point but at the same time the members themselve are not, so they entered this weird phase of being on the scene twice the time than idols of their age, who are yet getting into their best and at the same time not being old enough to enlist right now or to focus on activities outside the group, so the group could slow down. Also considering Riize being SM next boy group, it does not really make sense for SM to treat Dream as the “main unit” as it used to be for some time after 127 started to get actually old. And speaking of NCT in general, their biggest focus now is on Wish. I mean, they are still being treated better than WayV… but I do not know… I guess they should have debuted NCT Tokyo sooner, so then whole NCT regardless of units could pass the baton to Riize and comeback just once in a while with their all together albums, where each unit would get a moment to shine too. It is cool that Wish is something new for NCT and the brand is not forgotten. But at the same time it keeps it alive longer than it was necessary.

2026-01-15 04:05:53 +0000 UTCI cant believe we got Song of the Stars AND Star Eyes in the same show!!! I loved everyone's stage but TXT was my fav on this one! I also agree with Dream closing not being the best fit. I love them and they're my ults, but Stray Kids just has that end of entire show closing stage presence if that makes sense. The only thing I would have changed was maybe even having Ateez close with The Real. Especially for a traditional themed show like this one. I get having them open with it was also perfect and set the mood for the whole show, but also them ending it could have worked too.

First of all like you pointed out a lot of groups were going for different songs here which was great, I also loved the live band setting and the overall vibe. The collab/special stages here were the best/most coherent imo since they always had a theme added to them so it didnt feel completely random. MMA was more spectacle and higher performance and budget level, but Gayo Daejejeon felt very intimate and like old school kpop this year, which is why I loved it so much.

2026-01-14 08:31:36 +0000 UTCLike honestly, I am such a huge fan of NCT and a big reason why is for NCTDREAM during their glitchmode->beatbox era. I agree with your point that dream's song picks are not as good as the past two years. I feel like a big reason for that is first of all NCTDREAM aren't getting the right songs (title tracks and b-sides) and also SM has a habit of putting in more energy & effort to promote newer groups rather than older ones, which sucks so much. But lets hope that SM realizes their lack of effort and spend a bit more time and thought onto NCT as a whole (both dream AND wish) this year...

I do agree with the end performances, I LOVE nct dream but I do agree with you SM doesn’t bother much and it bothers me because with their talent they should give them much more *sigh*
