About Patreon's new fee update!
Added 2017-12-07 19:34:45 +0000 UTCUPDATE (4:00 PM): I was actually misinformed about the fee a bit. Per creation Patreon's like mine actually charge 35 cents + 2.9% for EACH paid post... which is pretty bad in my opinion. You should still be able to blunt the effects of this by updating your pledge limit on the Your Pledges page if needed, if you need to pledge for only 1-2 songs a month, I completely understand!
Hey Patrons!
Some of you may have received an email informing you that Patreon is making some adjustments to the way they handle fees and such, and one of the changes is that you'll now be charged an extra 35 cents (USD) + 2.9% for each paid post.
The good news is creators will be making a bit more than we used to from this change. The meh news is Patrons will be charged a tiny bit more. So while this news is all well and good for me, I'm more concerned with keeping you all happy and not having this scare anybody off.
A quick and easy way to look at how much this change will impact your pledge amount: if you pledge $5 USD per song, you'll be charged $5.50 per paid post. Those pledging $3 per song will be paying about $3.34 per post.
If you're still worried about the fee, you're always able to change your monthly limit over at the Your Pledges page. Lower it if you need to! I completely understand.
Just thought I'd make a quick update about this for those concerned. I know about as much as you all about the change at the moment, but if you have any questions I'll try to answer them as best I can.
