Its not just some kind of main character power up that happened. its literally just a conditional amplifier to handle the situation. and its not even overexaggerating guessing he might be as strong as the king in this situation cause we were able to see how incredibly strong those nen conditions were in kurapikas case. This was such an unexpected moment but looking at it later on it works very well for this world and also for this story and gons personality.
