2025-10-28 16:49:22 +0000 UTCI think the disconnect for you with Ahyeon might have been some of the more pre-recorded leaning stages/parts. I feel like Ahyeon isn't super interested in making the lip synching parts look super "real", which maybe why the performance seems flatter - for the Show 20:01 she's barely moving her mouth to match lol. Which is so funny considering the precision with which she delivers those parts in their encore, even while holding back tears.

She has always been the one, who would be forgotten by people, who are new to the group, but lately Aizen is getting to the story arc of taking the glasses off and becoming that madafaka Aizen! Also… first Paprika, then Aizen… I wonder (Paprika being an anime (movie) too) which anime reference we get in the future. In my opinion Asa gives Mikasa vibes a lot!

For years I’ve always thought, “hey it’s up to the studio” or “it’s random; it’s not the groups fault you can’t even hear their voices.” The fact that it’s OBVIOUS every video they are singing LIVE shows, YOU DO get to decide how live you want to be. And I’m taking the fact that they decided this as a FLEX!😂

She first got heavily criticized for "overdoing" it and then of "doing not enough" as they started to perform after debut. So I imagine its hard for her sometimes to find the right balance and I think she can get stuck in her head especially in situations like music show performances. In concerts on the other hand she has become one of their best and most charismatic performers. She just has fun there. We also saw her insane stage presence in their pre-debut content. That was the main reason she became so popular in the first place and that made it somewhat surprising seeing her somewhat different after her initial hiatus. So maybe it has something to do with the reason for her hiatus. So maybe somewhat of a mental blockade during music show performances that she still has to overcome. In concerts she is great.

These are the most raw live vocals you can get which is the reason why not many groups are confident enough to do those. The It's Live performances are of course more live than music show performances but still "produced" to a degree.

I think it's just her personality that shines through a lot on stage, if you watch their content or variety shows she's always very energetic & extroverted but also mature for her age. I think she found a way to show that personality of hers during performances as well for some time now

2025-10-24 15:05:02 +0000 UTCBabymonster got their first win while attending a music show this era & you can see during their speech & encore how deeply moved Ahyeon is & how she wanted to cry but then she hits her head and puts her brave face on again to deliver the encore. After it's over she starts crying & later on Weverse she said something like "I had to perform and be professional, I can't do We Go Up while crying, that's not acceptable". I don't know if this her own standards or just the pressure from the public on her but I do think she's afraid to show emotion sometimes. Thankfully she's become much more open & expressive on variety shows these days so I hope she shows that side of her on stage too.

Something in regards to your critique on ahyeon, i’ve noticed the same and it feels like it comes off mainly on music shows and performance vids. The energy u saw in the Its Live, i notice more on encores, radio shows and much much better at concerts. She’s probably the most visibly passionate at concerts. Maybe it’s something to do with just being loose and purely singing?
