BOYS II PLANET EP 11 - DISCUSSION

BOYS II PLANET EP 11 - DISCUSSION

Comments

Personally I had no issue with how both Kangmin and Hengyu acted, I was just flabbergasted at the coaches reaction. To me it felt like insane favoritism that they would comfort and even hug Junmin when he was down and crying but then straight up almost tells Hengyu that his emotions are just a hindrance when he’s almost on the verge of a panic attack. I know not everyone will see it that way but for me it really seemed like they just were being toxic and I lost respect for all the mentors. I don’t really like how this show has treated the chinese trainees so I guess I’m also way less tolerant when I feel like they’re being harsh to a C trainee. But that’s just how I personally saw it, I know you have a different opinion I just wanted to give my two cents haha.

junil just doesn’t have “it” in my opinion… he performs just good enough, he’s just cute enough, but i’ve never sensed his presence

Jiahao is really crazy, it's just like you said. I feel like no matter how "taemin inspired" you are, you can never really achieve that taemin-like quality, but jiahao really embodies it. If taemin wasn't active I would call jiahao a reincarnation. The rice analogy is hilarious considering kaiwen introduced himself as 공깃밥 flavor for the main dish stage introductions

What’s also wild is Donggyu is younger than Junmin! He’s a great leader while being on the younger side

with the whole kangmin and hengyu thing i agree on both not rlly doing anything wrong. tbh hengyu seemed really emotional and pale during and after the rehearsal to the point it was concerning so i wouldn’t have said that if i was kangmin, but i think a lot of ppl only focus on hengyu’s emotions (not PD, just general online reception) and don’t realize that how kangmin was that whole practicing time also felt very concerning? like to me the whole time both of them felt very unstable, hengyu was just very openly in a bad spot where kangmin was in his head stressing himself over it all which we can see w how he talks in the talking heads, he was being very hard on himself and the team + dancing that hard like he was gonna make his body give out on him even when gyehyeon shared that kangmin’s arm still isnt healed properly. he was just really stressed and sensitive too, pushing himself very hard. so considering both of their states i’m not shocked it ended up like how it did and anyone who picks one side over another is missing the overall picture tbh.

haneum is natural, you can see it in his pics when he was young like he looks the same even as a kid. like as you said, it’s the makeup which makes him seem that way 😭 mnet’s makeup team rlly does not know what to do w his face, he looks better without makeup bc of his very defined features than with their makeup style on lol. he looks fine and cute when his own agency does his makeup too or he does it himself (his insta is good proof of this). i think the mnet makeup artists kept really highlighting his aegyosal but its already prominent as is so it looks uncanny when you make that area stand out even more

daybreak

Mnet did Junil so dirty...he got overshadowed through the whole show

Since the beginning of boys 2 planet, I’ve always thought Dong Gyu was a better choice for leader role than Junseo. I didn’t know what it was about Junseo that I couldn’t put into words but it’s clearly like you said. He’s like a blank canvas and he can be put anywhere, he can make it work and blend in well. But Dong Gyu has more colors and to me, more stage presence. During their position battle, I thought Dong Gyu should of been the leader & have the killing part cause I personally think Junseo just lacks a bit of stage presence, he can do the parts but it’s barely passing for me. It’s like you said, Junseo has popularity due to his looks and probably from his fanbase before b2p but I wouldn’t be mad if he made into the line up. I’m just glad that you change your mind after this episode and recognizing Dong Gyu for his leadership.

OCMA ONE CHAIN MAX ALPHA

Jet

Yeah! When B2P wraps probably as a bonus post B2P video

Jet

Jia Hao Criminal cover manifestation

Jet

Yeah idk what the weird slew of Planet Masters and Jaejoong’s deal was but ideal scenario: Planet C Master Jaejoong and Planet K Master Baekho because man did I love Baekho during the eliminations.

Jet

I feel like you could see the nervousness in his face in every performance. I could tell when he was about to mess up and that sucks cuz I feel he psychs himself out and worries too much

arianna_maria

People were mad that Junmin got to be sad and Hengyu didn't, but the major difference to me is the fact that Junmin said that during earlier practices, Hengyu only said it in the pre-rehersals which should represent your performance.

Sven Lenders

I honestly think Sun Hengyu has major performance anxiety, I saw it at the first moment he auditioned, guy is really nervous before any stage and he gets it done in the end, but it is not healthy that he is so stressed about it (but I get he doesn't want to get back to 12 hour shifts of cleaning plates). He should have seen this as an opportunity to show himself to everyone despite the results.

Sven Lenders

Episode 12 not being the end goes to show how much production had to pivot bc of the initial mess of the merger, I’ve also seen people bring up good points of wow Jaejoong was really only there for a short period and not coming back when he was promoted a lot initially, I’m wondering if his contract only outline the planet C specifically and if they had to cover breaking contract or if he was always intended to do the first audition part? That seems weird bc then they would’ve stated guest master or something, IDK overall I think it’s super weird that there wasn’t an overall Planet Master and it’s just guest MCs who don’t get to know the contestants, it lacks the cohesiveness, and even if the original plan was to have two separate shows then they could’ve gotten a permanent planet master anyways? Like either 2 different ones or contract jaejoong for both long term, I highly doubt they just couldnt find anyone that met qualifications

Jia Hao has more technical control of his body and his isolations, on top of being physically bigger than Sangwon his lines when doing the choreo for Chains felt different, when Sangwon asked for his help it pointed out the fine details that Jia Hao does of the rise of the top chest is isolated even in a wave so it gave a stronger impact ; I would also say like taemin, JiaHao exudes a lot of power but he’s so incredibly light at the same time like everything feels strong but not heavy, light on his feet like that spin in Chains and his incredible balance, feels like touches of modern dance foundation that suit his proportions, I’d bet that Jia Hao could pull off the classic Taemin spin if he tried

Liv

Also, do you plan on checking out any of Leo's solo artist stuff? He's very much an all-rounded artist and yes can rap too (i remember you were surprised at the mention of it)

Kim Chaewon

Jiahao was a SM trainee and was a contender to be in Riize! Personally the best way i can put it is Sangwon suits Chains as a Center like he does for every song while Jiahao suits it as a Main Dancer with that extra sauce. They would work so insanely well together in the debut group. Every performance i see LeoWon, i just think about how insanely stacked Trainee A was. The other big3 companies have had 'mistakes for letting x person go' e.g. YG with Rain and Park Bo Gum. I think these boys will be Bighit's first people they wish they didnt let go

Kim Chaewon

Taemin is one of Jiahao's role models!! So I can defintiely see the comparison, plus his dancing is just a visual treat! And honestly he's my underdog <3 He definitely made my one pick with his talent!

Penn

Pd, when is the next episode gonna be dropped? It has to be today, right? Cuz tomorrow is already the finale

Kezia Veracruz

Apparently there are rumors that they might change the concept of "alpha" to something more chains related...idk what concept that would be😭
