I actually know one of the new contestants - Nayoung - from another survival show which she appeared on after Dream Academy (Girls on Fire, which had Young K from Day6, Eunji from Apink, and KINKY from Boys Planet 2 as the judges). I was so surprised to see her when I started watching this documentary (I think they did mention it on Girls on Fire, but I hadn't watched Dream Academy, so I forgot). She's an AMAZING vocalist! It's a shame she didn't debut in Katseye, but hopefully she has a chance to debut in the future. She actually made the debut lineup in Girls on Fire along with some other phenomenally talented vocalists, but sadly their debut was cancelled due to some issues with the company or something like that. I really hope she (and the other girls from the cancelled group) have another chance to debut in the future because it's such a waste of talent if not. 2025-09-03 13:32:16 +0000 UTCAs someone who performs K-pop covers in public in a fairly large community, I can definitely say that there is a certain extra level beyond the dancing and performing that comes with it. When I look at my covers from years ago, I can definitely see that same disconnect that the girls are having, where they aren't embodying the story of the song but instead just mimicking the moves to create a "perfect picture". It's definitely the reason why some people really can connect with viewers as opposed to others. I think what Emily said a couple of posts ago about not being "the dancer "but being "the artist" also applies here!

2025-09-03 02:37:51 +0000 UTCi get why they didn't tell the girls that it was a survival show at the begining but at this point they should have told the girls. especially because they're making them do a press conference for said survival show. i feel like a great time to do this would have been the final monthly eval. its a little off putting that the girls were put in the public eye not knowing why in the first place.

It's going to be a 4-member group, but 3 of the members are already confirmed, those being 3 of the contestants on Dream Academy. I think it's a similar situation to how &TEAM was formed where they're looking for the last member to fit in with the 3 girls.
