Hey Paul, thank you for sharing, interesting to know. Yes the coastline is constantly reshaping and changing itself but it seems that water has come closer to the coast for a quite a bit for the past 2 years xx

Our beach in Maxico is very similar shape, and when we get an onshore storm coming north up the Sea of Cortez and if that coincides with the spring tide the water will come right up against the buildings and walkways just like that. It reshapes the beach quite a bit, but the sand comes back and the beach returns to its normal contours over the next couple week's tides. Did that happen there too, did the sand come back?
