Yeah I am a little disappointed in the season so far. not only were there too many storylines, there were too many characters introduced that we were supposed to follow and remember. Most of them ended up being underdeveloped and, like you said, the few who were well-developed were killed off early. There were also way too many villains with significant screen time. If it was going to end like this, they should’ve given way more time to player 100. Right now I’m simply annoyed he lasted this long, but not particularly intrigued or excited to see how things play out.

Like it doesn't matter that he didn't know that she was helping, he still killed someone he didn't have to, and it directly impacted Junhee. Like my guy you were blood thirsty and greedy, that's the ONLY reason you continued to kill people.

Also, I feel like keeping the baby was purely to ensure that the rest of the players stayed in the game 'til the very last round. As you saw, some players were willing to stop the games until they learnt that they baby was going to inherit the mother's money. I wouldn't put it past the game master to have done that on purpose.

2025-08-10 02:51:03 +0000 UTCTo your words of boomers making it this far: I think the fact that the interesting characters of season 1 made it to the “final line up” helped the whole season be like a “finished story” even if there were plans for any sequel. And obviously that would have been useful here as well and to a certain level I am disappointed we are getting the finale with these random boring characters, because Thanos or other characters, who have died already and were interesting, would have made it more… hmm… “unclear who yo root for”. But that is the thing. They want it to be crystal clear and not give you any other option. Mainly because of the message they want to send with the finale and the whole show. Because (as you said) people/Koreans will hate these boomers here regardless and so making the boomers even more annoying and dumb makes it all 100% sure nobody will be on their side.

2025-08-10 01:29:34 +0000 UTCThere are SO many medical inaccuracies in this season, I just can’t take it seriously :D Junhee shouldn’t have given birth that quickly AND that easily. That baby should've starved already LET ALONE join the games. With a twisted ankle, she should have kept it elevated above her body to reduce swelling. The more she stands or sits, the worse it gets. Also Gihun telling her that he can carry her? Bruh.. Especially under the circumstances of having to land stably on a narrow surface within a time limit? Nearly impossible. Each landing loads the ankles with several times the body weight like 4–5 times and that load repeats many times in a row. Gihun is not an athletic guy and Junhee had just given birth. That was doomed from the start. That's why 333 looked troubled as soon as he saw her ankle. BASIC MATH! In Season 1, the games were harder. This season? Nah.. The first game was all about the surprise element catching the players. The second game… wasn’t strategic? They could have lost all the players. SO much of it came down to luck. The third game was this season’s highlight, in my opinion. The fourth game didn’t even give half the players a chance; it was basically The Purge. If Junhee’s ankle hadn’t been busted, this game would have been Level 1 easy. Like easier than Red Light-Green Light. Under ideal circumstances, they all would have passed. That’s why I find this season’s game writing a bit wonky. The cast from Season 1 wasn’t nearly as greedy as the Season 2–3 cast. They probably would have taken the money and split it evenly. Honestly before the final Squid Game, maybe even before the Glass Bridge game, it would have been over. I get why they added the 'voting after every single game' concept here but it just makes Season 1 feel even more unfair in hindsight. Also, I think they lost a bit of the plot here. Why would the gamemaker and VIPs even want a newborn baby in the game? Wasn’t the whole premise of the games to recruit people with enormous debts and desperate circumstances, luring them into competing for a life changing prize? A baby is innocent and has done nothing wrong. She is 1 day old!! At least before we could say the players were chosen because they were desperate enough to agree to risk their lives. Now it feels completely out of step with that logic. If the VIPs just wanted shocking entertainment, why not take the darker route and recruit people from the black market, dark web or outright dangerous criminals and psychos? People who at least chose to be in the games? I get that the VIPs can be morally bankrupt but the gamemaker has always been framed as someone who still operates within certain twisted of fairness. Like giving them the chance to leave the games or voting or even participating in the first place. This makes the whole setup feel less believable. Gong Yoo's character's whole speech from episode 1 is trash now :D Wow, such a long comment :D
