But really, seeing the genocides happening now, for example in palestine. I can see a lot of parallel things between the reality in gaza and the fiction in aot. It would be easy to say, erer is right and he needs to sqve his friends. But then you remember in reality there will be innocent men, women, elderly, babies, children, teenagers with dreams being killed for no reason other than fear and hate. I can not be with eren here. The atrocities i saw the past two years, made me realise it's not that easy to say I'm with eren. It's impossible for me to support killing the innocent even if you know they'll grow to kill you. You can not punish them for crimes they haven't done yet

2025-05-11 15:50:07 +0000 UTCAoT fight scenes are always so hard to watch. on one hand, they’re so HYPE—with the music, animation, storylines, fight choreography and all. but then you think about the context, and my heart literally drops. they are killing their former colleagues, commanders, and friends. never have i wanted to cheer and sob at the same time. i hate how cruel the AoT universe is, but damn, i will always be in awe of its greatness. that scene with commander Pyxis? HEART SHATTERING. but also—commander Shadis let’s gooooooooo 🤘 he has all my respect for real. now on to the Eren question…. if it’s only a matter of picking between Marley and Paradis, sure. i CAN be on board, MAYBE. after enduring a lifetime of unjustifiable hate, i understand why you’d just want to put an end to it all. and i think it’s fair to say that the cycle of hate and racism wouldn’t stop if the entirety of Marley isn’t wiped out. but Eren doesn’t want to wipe out just Marley, he wants to get rid of EVERYONE. people who have never contributed to the cycle. people who may never have even known about Paradis, Marley, and all its history. the world is wide, and these people are living their own lives just as Eren and the gang are living theirs. i think it’d be hard to ethically justify killing those people off. even with how attached i am to the gang, i don’t think i can be on board with genocide. besides, even IF or WHEN Eren’s plan succeeds, i find it hard to believe that it would be enough to rid the world of oppression and hate. with how humans are wired to operate, i don’t think perfect peace can ever exist as long as we all still exist. does that mean i condemn Eren and his actions? no. i still want to give him a warm hug and cry with him and protect him from the cruelty of the universe 😭 the more i rewatch, the more Eren starts to feel like a dear child to me. he may be a genocidal maniac to the rest of the world now, but to me, he’s just a child standing up for his friends by blindly throwing rocks at a universe who’s thrown him nothing but hate. except, you know, the rocks he’s throwing are gigantic and might just flatten the earth and everyone in it. oopsies.

2025-05-11 06:00:35 +0000 UTCIt’s an interesting hypothetical that makes me quite glad that’s it’s a hypothetical 😅 I’m also very glad one person doesn’t actually have that much power, bc I think that wide scope of a decision can’t be trusted with one person, especially eren,,,mikasa armin and the actual subjects of ymir which he claims to be protecting could’ve easily been killed so his philosophical argument always just comes back to me in What Ifs and exceptions; still coming back to, I’m glad I don’t have to make that decision because i dont often go towards extremism, and we’re getting into minority report territory where you’re saying innocence/guilt is predetermined and I can’t co-sign that personally, i think it’s easier to resort to violence, I’ll say sure it’s more efficient, I understand why people go towards it especially if the loss they’ve experienced is high—but I think I always will think about community building as number one priority, it’s harder, you can’t punch your way through an issue, it’s long , laborious work but in our real life that’s what will make long term change, what actually gets food on people’s tables, making sure people have access to healthcare, etc at the end of the day I understand survival first instinct but I always think about the aftermath, how do we continue living a year, 10 years from now, but still, I’m human, and very so very glad to never have to actually contemplate making such a decision bc it’s all theory and no one knows how they will act in the moment

The important point here is… every single one of them has to agree on joining forces, because… how does anyone stop Eren at this point? But let’s say I would be the only one left to say yes or no. Hmm… in that scenario I would suggest saving innocent people, who were not really involved in this. Like they have airships, so they can transport them to Paradito before the titans reach their place. Basically my take is: 1) If it is only up to me, I cannot do much, so I am leaving it all to Eren 2) If others suggest joining forces to do at least something, I want to save the innocent ones, which still means not going against Eren, but at least doing something good. I am not sure how far you are with your pre-recorded episodes, but Eren did not do anything with the mindless titans, because he does not want to use the power of the Founding Titan to order anything to anyone. Regarding Connie… Hmm… there is pretty much no reason to disagree with him. Maybe just the obvious concept of feeling bad about killing a child + the factor of Connie’s mom would turn back into a human, but she would die in 13 years, but I guess it is still better than leave her there like this and Falco is already set to die in 13 years, so it happens just a bit sooner 😅😅 But the important thing is that Falco is going to be an important character from now on, but I will stop here… Regarding Pixis… I do not know why, but I always get so teary eyed in this scene. He did not have much screen time and to be honest it is not like he would be within my top 5 characters, but it is just sad… He was the one, who trusted Armin very back then and thanks to who Eren, Armin and Mikasa were not executed 🥹🥹
