Listening Party: TNX 'For Real?' EP

Oh, PD, if you have the time could you add a reaction to TNX's 벌써 choreography video to your schedule next month? It's entirely self produced choreo and it absolutely slaps. You'll love it! They also did their own reaction video to it where they share some behind the scenes stuff and it's really interesting. Taehun even participated in the video editing and all. Getting choreo for a Way Up bside after all this time is incredible, that whole album goes so hard!

2025-05-08 18:55:34 +0000 UTCDamn dude, it has been over 24 hours, since I heard your words in this video and I am still speechless. Your statement of being a fan of LOUD, but not really the group is a perfect explanation of my relationship towards them and I do not mean it only from the perspective of the line up and the whole Koki thing. But literally from the aspect of the group being somehow “soul-less” the whole time. Like I have seen LOUD 3 times, I know these boys very well, like… I even “talked with them” (although JunHyeok was missing) face to face, but it is questionable whether I should call myself a fan of theirs as for example I am of Baemon. Which is funny, because when it comes to Baemon, I bought only the debut mini album, but with TNX I buy all albums in both versions (if there are more than one), because I want to support them and help them on their journey. I wrote this under the For Real? reaction… It was released a few days prior Koki’s (most likely) departure from P Nation and so since I did not know it was going to happen, I found myself being finally able to get over the fact of Koki not being in the group and I was not exactly sure what it was and you said it out LOUD (LoL), they finally have their soul and I can finally see the future for them. It is all such a weird mixture of feelings. I am super glad for them, but with the information regarding Koki I am also shocked and touched at the same time. When I saw him after that many years, I felt like as if I was his grandpa saying: “You have grown so much, you might be taller than me very soon!” 😅😅 Why am I saying all this? Since I like this mini album so much, it helps me get through it all and also it makes me wonder if it means that there are no plans for any new boy group for a really long time. Obviously adding Koki back was just a wish of mine, but since he stayed with P Nation for that much amount of time (despite him having the option of debuting elsewhere way sooner), I assume he was truly waiting for the next group of his, but since this mini album feels like a fresh restart for TNX, it seems like the whole cycle of time between debuting a group and debuting the next one has started all over again, which may lead to what I said under Road to Kingdom Ace of Ace videos, that TNX might be P Nation’s only boy group for good or for a really long time and not from the perspective of them not being able to succeed, but because… THEY ARE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN. So he might have thought there is no point of waiting anymore. To be honest… it is crazy… to think about all of this… LOUD started (without a month) 4 YEARS ago and it has been over 3 years since the announcement of Koki’s departure and just now I have managed to accept this reality and I am finally getting to the point of calling myself a TNX fan and not only a LOUD fan 😅😅 Anyway… I am thinking what made PSY change his mind about the approach to TNX. Because he did say EunHwi would take care over the group’s production in the future, but he was probably thinking of it as truly only EunHwi being their composer and that’s it. I guess PSY must have had the reality check moment as I had during watching Road to Kingdom Ace of Ace. Him and P Nation do not have the knowledge of taking care over a group and considering PSY’s age, his approach must have been the “old school Kpop mindset” and after it all they decided to change everything and start from scratch. Regarding the plans for the album you mentioned… They presented Fuego as a pre-release to their next mini album, which was (I think unofficially) postponed. Probably because of Road to Kingdom Ace of Ace. And then the mini album did get to be released at all, most likely because of KyungJun leaving. So I dare to say nothing from the mini album made it into this one. Maybe… maybe they had Perfect Danger only in the early demo version without KyungJun’s lines, so they did not have to change it much, but that is just a speculation based on the fact that this song does not have the same soul as the rest. Personally my favorite b-side here is What If! That is the song I mentioned you would like a lot. Last month it ended up being one of most replayed songs and I can say it surpassed My Bias, which was my the most favorite b-side of theirs!

2025-05-08 15:49:06 +0000 UTCThis was so moving! Hearing about your experience with them—SO moving. And it’s fascinating to hear that they’re all secretly English speakers??? I gotta hear

2025-05-08 12:48:43 +0000 UTCBut hwi said they are not going to Boys Planet II. I believe they gave them concept to get to know how all this producing works. I can't wait to see more 🥹😍

2025-05-07 19:26:16 +0000 UTCIf you're interested in seeing a breakdown of the songs, how they were made and the thought process behind them I highly recommend checking out Hwi's weverse live from 25.04.19 where he plays his original demo/guide versions and gives a detailed breakdown of each song. The guides are much more chaotic and noisy than the final studio versions but there is something very charming about how raw and unpolished they are. It's interesting too to see the parts that were changed or removed (What If bridge) during the polishing process.

2025-05-07 18:02:27 +0000 UTCI think you really hit the nail on the head with this one PD and said what all of THX are thinking. I totally agree with all your opinions on this album. I like to think that this is the debut album of TNX (even though they technically debut as TNX originally lol, I almost wish they went for a totally new name to really show that they're moving on with a fresh start) as a group who has the freedom to show their own colours. In terms of favourites from this album, 시간의 틈에서 is my favourite song lyrically, What If is my favourite melodically and 겨울 다시 봄 is the perfect way to summarise the message and intent of this album, so those are my three favourites. (The rest is just bonus info so feel free to stop here if you don't want to read it, sorry not sorry for the essay) Taehun said he cried during the recording of What If because of the emotion of the lyrics, and I think you can really feel that emotion come through in the song. The boys said they did consider What If as a potential title track because it does feel like it COULD be a title track, but that in the end 아 진짜 was chosen because it just IS a title track. I totally agree What If could have been a strong title trsck on a different album, but when you put it next to 아 진짜 I think they made the right choice. 아 진짜 on its own my not be the catchiest or most popular title track they've ever done, but I think it really fits what they needed from this album in terms of coming back with a bright and positive energy and to show how they want to see themselves moving forward. I think this comeback was exactly what they needed it to be. I actually happened to be in korea for this comeback so I had the unique privilege of being able to go to a fansign event and tell Hwi that a lot of my favourite songs of his (시간의 틈에서, Rap Sh!t, Up (위로), Do That Sxxt, etc) are the ones where he curses lol. Swearing is always a sure fire sign that one if his songs is gonna be an absolute banger! I went to a few music show broadcasts as well and the energy and stage presence of TNX was really on another level. At least from the shows I was able to go to, the only one really up with them performance wise was Ten, which was just crazy. They are also just incredibly kind and hard working people. I was very lucky to be able speak to a few groups and artists during my trip and TNX were hands down the kindest and most genuine people I met during my whole trip. Ngl I wasn just expecting regular professional courtesy from them but they really went above and beyond which I really appreciated. I was a fan of Loud so I already liked them well enough, but they really converted me to a fan for life. Also unrelated to anything but something I found interesting to note for anyone thinking of getting into TNX; they don't seem to like advertising it, but Sungjun, Junhyeok and Taehun are all fluent english speakers. Especially Sungjun who has (in his own words) perfect english pronunciation (and he's not wrong). For a group that supposedly doesn't have any english speakers, they actually have great english. Sungjun also speaks Chinese moderatly well and I think he and Hyunsoo are pretty decent at Japanese too. I even saw them on a weverse live recently claiming to not speak english, but that is categorically a lie because they could both speak and read english very fluently. I think Sungjun technically has the best english, but Junhyeok impressed me the most with how easily and naturally he spoke. Junhyeok spoke without even a korean accent 90% of the time except on high level vocab. Taehun was very soft-spoken in english and actually spoke with more of a british english accent than anything else. He very occasionally struggled to find the right english word but we talked about some pretty niche topics. Even Hyunsoo and Hwi, who are not confident in english, threw some random english sentences at me while we were talking (when I told Hwi in korean I liked his songs that had swearing in them, he replied to me in english, "your taste in music...." and then shook his head judgingly and then laughed at me lol). All in all they are an incredibly talented and hard working group and I really look forward to see them keep going up from here now that they're finally finding their footing with their own sound and identity. I really hope they were able to pick up some new fans with this album because they have unfortunately been doing kinda terribly in korea since they lost a lot of korean fans over Kyungjun's departure. They really deserve to succeed and I hope moving forward into the next album (which they have promised is coming very soon - it sounded like they have it mostly done already) they are able to keep up the momentum. Tbh P Nation has been kinda terrible at giving them the tools and the footing they need to succeed, but with their newfound creative freedom over their direction and identity, hopefully as they continue improve and polish their skills and sound they will be able to properly make a name for themselves.

2025-05-07 17:40:06 +0000 UTCYo PD, It is kinda confirmed that PNATION is sending some people to Boys II Planet, the only thing that isn't specified is if those people are trainees (Koki (he opened an instagram account so i'm not sure if he is still under the label), Donghyun, ...) or if these people might be members of TNX. So don't be shocked when you might see Junhyeok, Hwi and Sungjun for example on Boys II Planet.

2025-05-07 16:01:38 +0000 UTCThe boys on live said they came together and decided to move forward as a self-producing group. They wanted to choose their direction. They took part in everything they could, even the styling, and it really shows. That's why this album and sound suits them so well. You're so right in saying it's conceptless, they just wanted to show who they are and what kind of path they want to take. I'm really proud of them. I know its just the beginning for them, I'm so excited where they go from here. Junhyeok has even been writing songs too.
