Everything she does is better than the last one, she is so hungry as an artist and thrives so much when you let her be. My favorite thing about this album is how set in stone the fact that she made it for herself is. Always happy to be in Jennie's world, will always support and can't wait to see what's next p.d I've been also followed you for quite a while now, so I kinda guessed your reactions beforehand lol, It's almost a bingo card at this point, thank you PD !!

She really worked hard for this album and it's shows. Ruby is very Jennie coded. Her vision for her album, translated very well. I'm so proud of her and genuinely I'm so satisfied with this album. She and her team did a great job. Thank you for your appreciation on Jennie's work. Just subscribed coz I want to know your reaction to her album and I was happy that you liked it.

So from listening to this album it's like there's like an act 1, act 2 and so on so it feels like a full on opera. It's really an art. Love love your reactions. This is my favorite BP Solo Album.

Standout tracks: Start a War, Handlebars, Zen, With the IE, ExtraL, Twin, Mantra, but the rest are great too. Also, as a Shawol and Blink it was surprising but nice hearing you bring up Taemin's Eternal haha.

2025-03-20 05:38:24 +0000 UTCThe 7th of March 2025… As a Little Monster with a tattoo related to Lady Gaga & as a BLINK (not just day 1 but waiting for their debut for 2-3 years) I asked myself that day: “WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING ON THIS PLANET OF EARTH & WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THIS YEAR??” Like… I get (annoyingly) detailed & picky, when I get into something and I want it to be perfect, but I truly do not have anything here to say. I wanted to play this listening party with my mind being able to fully focus on the album & your reaction (usually I watch your videos while eating or doing something like that), so I could not watch it immediately, but despite me focusing on this properly and having listened to it many times already, I still do not have anything to critize or say something could have been better. AND I HAD SOMETHING TO SAY TO BE BETTER IN THE CASE OF G-DRAGON’S ÜBERMENSCH!! But here? Here I am just flabbergasted and all I want is to replay this album again. Like literally when I cannot play the album from start to end and I have to go somewhere or something like that, I remember, where I ended and then I come back and continue from the track till the end. I was thinking maybe an outro here would be cool or an interlude, but the way “twin” ends… there is no need for any outro, the song provides that on its own and it leaves you with the perfect note and feeling from the whole experience. The same goes with an interlude… ZEN is the perfect song in the middle and it provides you anything you could ask for. Now I understand, why they kept this song as only a YouTube video song! The hype I get every time the song is about to come is the hype we (like you & me) get, when NingNing’s “FANCY” is coming! The biggest surprise here for me is me enjoying songs like Mantra and Love Hangover way more than before just thanks to them being placed correctly here but also because of me knowing them prior to listening to this. It feels weird to phrase it like this. For example although I can imagine “with the IE (way up)” being a great pre-release, I would have focused on the song way too much if that was the case and then songs like Mantra and Love Hangover would have stood out as much as b-sides. But as it is now I enjoy all the songs SO EQUALLY and I can just hope for anything else to get a music video or performance video! Regarding “with the IE (way up)” I just want to say I have always wondered why she did not make a cover called “Jennie from the Block” by Jennifer Lopez and this songs at least somehow makes my dream come true! Also… the album perfectly embodies her as a person, who is Korean with a very strong western/multi culture background! Despite me liking ExtraL the most of all those pre-releases, I did not listen to it as much as I would like to, because I was slowly getting used to her deciding to focus on the western market, although the US influence was not as strong as in the case of Lisa, I could not help myself, because despite Mantra having something K-Pop-ish there I did not see it in the other songs that much. But we actually got here both her Korean and English rapping, songs to satisfy people from the both worlds and it works as the perfect package you can think of! Then if you think about it… not just having THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, but even something experimental, then trendy and then something personal… like… this album is full of many genres and themes, but it still works together so well and not just in the aspect of tracks and where they are placed, but it actually being able to represent one complex personality (Jennie or in this case Ruby, because that is her identity she created as a child). I am not sure if I can choose any other song besides Zen as the one, which stands out the most/more than the rest. Maybe twin… she started to cry while she was performing it live, because it is really a personal story about the end of either relationship or friendship and the way she dealt with it, so I always get at least a bit teary-eyed, when I listen to this song. She talked about most of the songs in the Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe, I will leave the link at the end of this comment… For the end… the biggest question here… How do I rank BLACKPINK’s solos? Under YG it was between Jennie & Rosé, because in the case of Lisa I was not into Money that much but I liked Lalisa, but at the same time I did not like Jisoo’s Flower to the level of how I liked Rosé’s and Jennie’s solo songs and All Eyes On Me was around the same level as Flower, but I usually only let it played after Flower. The thing between Rosé & Jennie was whether I would count Hard To Love too (Rosé’s solo song on Born Pink), because without that I only liked Gone to the level as Solo and You & Me (Coachella version, but the regular is also nice), because I got to like On the Ground way later on after their concert. So without Hard To Love, Jennie was the winner, but with Hard To Love it was neck to neck… Here I got into pretty much the same situation all over again… Now I can say I like Jisoo’s solo more than Lisa’s, so their whole solo discographies are not that equal to me as before, but at the same time the Amortage mini album had a big first impression and shock factor on me, because of the whole: “Wow! She has released something and wow, I did not see this coming”, so after all I still like rosie and now I can say that Ruby too more. The thing with rosie is it being truly one big personal story + APT, which kind of is the only song I feel like it was forced to be there, but the amount of love I have for this song is crazy! On the other hand… Ruby has Zen and although APT. is way more the “Hell yeah, that is the Pop BANGER my soul needs!”, I cannot deny Zen is something special and that applies to Ruby as whole album, because rosie is such a personal story, but as far as I remember Rosé mentioned it is related to her past year and something, well… excluding APT., which had already been made, she worked on the album for the past year, so the things that inspired her and made her write it all must have happened before that, but still it “only” a specific period of time. Whereas Ruby feels like (well… as the title embodies it perfectly) as if it represented her life since her childhood. And because of that I place Ruby as the the most favorite BLACKPINK solo album of mine, which technically makes Jennie’s solo as my favorite BLACKPINK solo (both under & after YG), but… One, APT. is still the most favorite song Two, Rosé is going to release the deluxe version of rosie, so I still keep the doors open… I hope that is all I had to say 😅😅 The interview: https://youtu.be/2_bYR3kR0w0?si=EXaQKHaSCbSXb3bx

2025-03-19 21:58:21 +0000 UTCI felt very similiar to you while listening to Ruby for the first time, it was mindblowing, the energy kept rising, it felt like I was ascending to all those different sounds, beats and genres. Twin at the end kinda broke me, but the entire album is just a masterpiece. I loved Rosie for how coherrent it was, but Ruby is so diverse while also having this amazing tracklist that just fits so well together like you mentioned. Jennie really solidified herself as a fantastic artist in my book from now on.

My favourite tracks right now is start a war, seoul city, and damn right! I love this album so much. Jennie mentioned that she listened to this album in so many different orders to find the best one!
