So glad they cast Tseng Jing Hua (exceptional Taiwanese actor - he was in Your Name Engraved Herein, Hello Ghost, Oh No Here Comes Trouble) and that he was such a perfect fit with the overall amazing quality of this MV on every level. 2025-03-15 04:36:33 +0000 UTCJust to make one thing clear… this is a SPECIAL ALBUM. That not being a full length album as you might end up seeing on Apple Music. Special album is a really vague term for anything not certain what it is regarding an artist’s discography. In this case they went for this deep story connected through the whole special album, where you have songs really short and even the members there do not get that much lines. It is truly “experimental experimental” approach! Therefore… it is definitely a switch-up for them, but I would not say they decided to end their previous concept nor they are going to do this style with the next comeback in the future. Some articles and websites mentioned it as their first studio album, which made it confusing and it truly did make me think they might have ended the previous concept and make this their new start, which would be really brave to do so, but at the same time after hearing the special album it made me think that I cannot imagine them doing this for a long time… With that being said! I heard they might have said the “food/eating related concept/story” had been ended and now they want to do something new. If that is true, they might still do the original concept and sound, just with different setting, if that make sense. But that is hard to say now. It is not clear why they decided to release something like this at this moment. They are involved in some Texas music thing/festivsl, where they tour right now, so they do not have much time for something else, so even this is not promoted as much and it explains, why the special album is so “special” and short… My guess is they wanted to remind the scene of themselves + release something new for any new comers from the Texas thing and because of the lack of time they decided to make the release “not as big but at the same time testing the waters of what could happen if they try something SO DIFFERENT”, which may help them in the future with releasing something different in any way (like both different from the original style and even this). Anyway… I was not sure if you noticed it at all, because of the lack of promotion, but I was not sure if it was good to recommend because of the depressive nature + considering you having already a lot of to react to… BUT I am glad you decided to check that out and planned the listening party, I am genuinely curious for your thoughts on that! Also… based on your post earlier today… I hope you do not overwork yourself with all of this! Something to lighten your mood for the end: Mark is releasing another pre-release this month prior to his early April album release and this pre-release is featuring HAECHAN!! They should have done this as a new unit called Markel Haecson…

The direction, the story, photography, acting (even from the Young Posse, with no acting history AFAIK)… Everything was 10/10 for me. The song too: it’s a good song by itself, but the MV story actually matches the lyrics if one pays attention, I’d definitely be playing the MV in my head as I listen to the song. And the audacity (in the most complimentary sense possible) to make the coldest MV I remember seeing… I believe the MV was shot in Taiwan, the brother being a Taiwanese actor. The texts Doeun was reading have one word in English: “deepfake”; the comment says something like “No way she’s gonna say it’s deepfake or something”. The other comments are in the vein of “I never thought miss goody two-shoes would be doing something like that” and the like. Oskar (the brother) is a photographer, and did a “fun” photo shoot for her… and you can imagine what happened next.
