Added 2025-03-24 04:50:08 +0000 UTCI have not seen Wicked personally. I hear everyone loves it, and I’m sure everything about it is very well done and well crafted by very talented people. But… I’m also pretty confident that it’s just not going to be for me.
Again, I haven’t seen it, but I get the feeling that it’s very “feel good”. And I know it might sound strange to some, but when something feels like it’s designed to make me feel positive, it hits me in a way that feels… frankly, repulsive. I feel so much more comfortable and drawn in by darkness that’s stuff designed to challenge me. And, I’m sorry, but I don’t consider the notion that a villain created over a hundred years ago might be sympathetic to be “subversive”.
And again. I *haven’t seen it and could be wrong!* I will check it out eventually. In the meantime, I’m going to judge this movie based on surface appearances without getting to know it. I wonder if those themes are explored in the movie? If so, *what a hot take!*
