OOOOHHHHHHH MYYYYY GOOOOOOODDDDDDDD

Comments

came back to this because i love this reaction. i hope to see your reaction to their latest 2 eps someday <3

villain for life

i like this album a lot, it's a very solid debut album and makes me curious about what their future releases will be like! on my first listen, 'see you on tomorrow' was my favourite song but now it might be 'like a monster'. 'umm great' is a close third too. i highly recommend checking out their live stages and performances, they performed four songs from this album (mama said, umm great, knock knock and like a monster) during their debut showcase as well! in addition, they also have their own content series with each episode featuring a senior from jype (young k, changbin and jeongin, bae and haewon, nayeon and momo, lia and yeji, and finally jyp himself) - it's super funny and i loved the skz episode, and you can get to know the members more as well :D there's like a million shows out there but i hope you can check this out!

I agree that JYP is starting to push the boundaries of what styles of music they are willing to release and I'm so excited!! You are 100% on point about how SKZ & NMIXX sort of set the stage for the new 5th gen sound JYP is going for with Kickflip and even NEXZ. People were worried that JYP would just make carbon copy groups of SKZ because of how much of a hot streak that are on globally rn, but honestly I can see some key differences that set these new groups apart for sure. As long as those LOUD boys had to go back in the basement, it was worth the wait like you said. Now that you've checked out Kickflip, I'd say you should definitely check out more NEXZ if you like this street vibe because they have been killing it! Their b-sides & dance choreography video covers are INSANE!

I've gone back and watched your reaction to LOUD. And I've seen you're reaction to Mama Said and Umm Great so I'm happy you reacted to the entire album. I've also not heard the boy groups you mentioned but I think PG-Street is the perfect way to put their sound/concept into words. I do find it funny, I could listen to Umm Great on repeat but I don't find it as interesting as Mama Said. Mama said has so much more music, sounds and vocal harmonies that Umm Great lacked for me. I do agree that they're selling a performance though. Along with the store telling aspects. Mama Said makes a great performance to watch, along with the story-telling. Still, I enjoyed your reaction! I love your album reviews. They released a music video for Knock Knock but I hope you react to some of their live stages. They did two radio shows and some of the music show stages were clearly live (Amaru's voice cracked lol) and some content! (Also looking for XDZ to release music so I can see your reaction to that)

I have to admit that I might have appreciated the music video to Mama Said way too much, so it overshadowed the song itself and on the other hand I had way too high hopes for anything to be released by them that Umm Great as the very first song (not considering Get Loud from the end of LOUD, which apparently will not get released), so it could not live up to my expectations. Listening to the songs purely on their own, I like Umm Great more and I actually cannot find myself playing Mama Said at all. I am not into this mini album as much as you do, because only See You On Tomorrow and kind of Like A Monster stuck in my head, but I still agree with you that Mama Said feels so... off?? It seems like they just wanted to play it safe, so it is what it is... which is the thing I find disappointing... after all that: "Quiet People Have The Loudest Minds" they debuted with something, which rather keeps my mind quiet than it showing their loud minds... I am still waiting to be more blown away to agree that the period of time was worth the wait, but I can agree those b-sides show KyeHun's potential way more and Amaru still keeps his spotlight, so it gets split equally between them. Then MinJae is definitely someone, who caught my attention. I mean, I read about the two new members more, but I cannot distinguish them yet, but to be fair I am not 100% sure if I always distinguish Donghyeon and Keiju either, hmm... I will have to re-listen to that I focus on that more.

Hi PD I’m your new patreon subscriber from Taiwan!!! Like A Monster is also my favorite in this album✨ Though my bias is Kyehoon, Amaru is so AWESOME in this group with his powerful voice and skill!!! btw Amaru is also a 9-year-trainee before debut (in YG before JYP. Knock Knock MV is just released, please check it out~!!! Look forward to watching your reaction of their live stages!!! They are sooooo amazing on the live stages!!!!!!

Like A Monster is MY bside 😭😭 like i LOVE this song too much since ik you are starting to get back in variety content, kickflip did a great predebut series w other jyp artists (young k, changbin, i.n, haewon, bae, yeji, lia, momo, nayeon, & jyp) teaching them about different aspects of being an idol…. “teaching” 😂 it’s a great watch that i hope you keep on your radar to react to!! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUSrIVz3btt7JLQjnq4UZH2w92MIeEhI3&si=8VtJ-9G40GTt9LVJ
