2024-12-08 23:51:30 +0000 UTCi actually really like the fact the songs are so short, it feels deliberate, artistic, they flow SO WELL into each other! this album is clearly a story, a concept of a sort. almost as if the sanctuary is illusional, too short, too desirable and fleeting... and of course all the songs are freaking CARRIED by boys' vocals

2024-12-05 02:02:29 +0000 UTCevery song on this album is less than 3 minutes long and it’s crazy bc their song keeps getting shorter and their line distributions still aren’t equal, it feels like hybe is just wanting to make these songs that are easy for streaming which is sad bc all the songs are so good but the songs will end and i’ll be like —oh i forgot that’s where it ends i thought there was one more chorus 😭 but every member had credits on this album so i’m glad they at least had more of a hand in lyrics in this album

2024-12-05 00:50:18 +0000 UTCIt's funny, even taehyun and soobin expressed wishing the songs were longer this time around so it's definitely bighit/hybe pushing this shorter song trend on them which i think clashes too much with txt's artistry and their own personal taste. Rather than the album being a burst of adrenaline from good song after good song, it mostly just leaves me wanting more but not in the usual way I feel after a txt album. It's more of a "this feels incomplete" way, which i really hate. I easily could have ranked this as my favorite txt album and otm as my top 3 txt tts, however the too short run times really kept me from personally ranking them that way. The Chaos Chapter Freeze still reigns supreme to me from beginning to end, she truly was ahead of her time... Hopefully next comeback they're able to stick with the 3+ minute songs because nobody deserves to hear txt's voices for less than 3 minutes lol

2024-12-04 22:30:05 +0000 UTCYes I agree about their voices making this album, heaven might seem more simple easy listening but far out their voices every syllable is so catchy because of how they sing it. Higher than heaven is my ride or die !!!! I have been addicted to over the moon probably the reason I can listen to it on repeat is the shorter length, that little feeling of dissatisfaction at the end makes me just keep replaying lol. My personal favourite title track and album of theirs in a while (they are always top star quality ofc)

2024-12-04 19:06:51 +0000 UTCI completely agree with your thoughts on the album. As always with TXT, the quality and cohesion of the songs are unmatched, but my one issue is with the runtime. I don’t usually mind shorter songs if they feel complete, but this album just goes SO quickly, and Over the Moon in particular is too good not to have a bridge. To me, it almost sounds like the original composition included one, but they cut it in favor of the ending harmonies… I NEED MORE! The standout of this album, as you mentioned, is definitely their vocals. It’s amazing how much they improve with each comeback. You can really see this growth in their recording behind-the-scenes videos—it’s so impressive! With the way they’re evolving, I genuinely believe there’s no limit to what they can achieve. Since you love their vocals, I’d highly recommend checking out their Genius Open Mic performance of Over the Moon and their live band version of LO$ER=LO♡ER on The Seasons. Both performances really showcase their vocal growth and highlight how versatile their tones have become. For bonus drop content, I’d love to see you check out the special performance video and live stages of Forty One Winks (I personally love the Music Core one). For variety content, I’m not sure if you saw but both TXT and TWICE (along with the actress Park Boyoung) appeared together on episodes 34 & 35 of Youngji’s Nothing Much Prepared, which was such an unexpected but fun crossover! I also think you’d enjoy Beomgyu’s appearance on Public TV Dumbass (a YouTube show hosted by Sechan and Haha). The dynamic between the three of them is so entertaining, and Beomgyu’s quick wit really shines! Although these aren’t from this comeback, I’ve been meaning to recommend them because I know how much you enjoy healing content. These two videos remind me a lot of Talk X Today, so they’re perfect if you ever want some one-off TXT healing content (each video is just under 30 minutes). Each song flows so well into each other that it’s a great album to hit play and have run in the background while I go about my day. All of their previous albums have been cohesive with their theme or concept but this album I think is the most cohesive when it comes to the sound. Writing credits for this album btw are Heaven- Yeonjun, Taehyun, Soobin Danger- Yeonjun, Taehyun, Beomgyu Resist- Beomgyu, Soobin, Taehyun, Hueningkai Higher Than Heaven- Taehyun I hope you have time to check out the Over The Moon - Our Sanctuary version music video which uses the English lyrics. Once again their English lyrics are so good I struggle to decide which version I love more. I had the same problem with Chasing That Feeling where I legit can pick if I love the English or Korean version more. They are so good at localizing their lyrics Also if you need another bonus video- their Forty One Winks special performance video is sooooo good!

Higher Than Heaven kinda makes me forget about the rest of the album purely because of their vocals. This is probably vocally one of their greatest if not greatest like how Enhypens last album is their vocally greatest feat. Deja Vu is by far my top title track of the year from anyone. However Love Song will still always be my favorite TXT song then Higher Than Heaven.

2024-12-04 15:32:34 +0000 UTCI agree. Over The Moon needed a bridge for me. All the other songs were short but I honestly did not mind because I feel like they flowed into each other nicely. Danger was my least favorite song when I did a first listen and now it's become my favorite lol something about how Yeonjun starts the song off really gets me going and then the pre chorus is perfection. I also really like Forty One Winks. The vocals were vocalling. This entire album was a vocal dream. TXT voices have matured so well. They recently performed Loser =Lover on The Rainbow of Lee and you can tell their voices have grown comparing it to one of their older Loser=Lover performances. Especially Kai. His voice sounded so healthy. Prior to this album Temptation was my favorite album by them and now The Star Chapter: Sanctuary is. It feels complete to me.

As for this album, I really love all the songs but my top favorite keep changing based on my mood or vibe for the day. Danger's rap verse always bring out my sassy side (fyi Taehyun just reveal that he wrote that rap verse). Forty One Winks give me that smooth r&b which remind of Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake. Higher Than Heaven make me start having my air drum session. Overall my favourite part of this album is their vocal maturiy on how they carry each of the song vibe. PD, fyi, TXT has released Forty One Winks Special Performance on their channel and also Over The Moon (English ver..but the mv is called "Our Sanctuary") I hope you have time to watch to this 2 videos.

I can't stop thinking about how different they would be if they were 2021 songs, before everyone got obsessed with taking bridges out of songs. Like, imagine it 0X1=LOVESONG didn't have its bridge! And now think of how many things we're missing out on just because these songs have no time to settle and breathe. I really like the album, the production is incredible and they've improved so much as vocalists... and that makes it even more frustrating because we could've had SO MUCH MORE!
