I feel like with tempest the dance break felt super random. They put it at quite a weird place without even trying to connect or blend it in with the rest of the performance. It felt pretty disconnected with the way they just changed the instrumental and then did a break/drop to go back into the rest of the song. Tbh this just felt like a skz cover (albeit a very good one) and it made it hard not to compare it with skz’s own performances of it. With tnx their stage felt really new. As they said, it’s a b-side so they had a lot of chances to make it their own and I think they succeeded in doing exactly that. They changed various parts of the song such as slowing down the “oh oh oh oh” part in the chorus, adding their own raps, and adding a very high tension outro which brought the concept together. Plus the “wave” performance was pretty unique. Honestly tnx’s performance was what I was expecting from a “Kingdom” show. From “road to kingdom” and “kingdom: legendary war”, two of the strongest proponents of the performance that groups are able to show is storylines and the ability to transform themselves as well as the song itself to show something completely new. I remember that when this first came out stays were super excited to see what they would do and the overall consensus being that tnx’s performance was better. While phobia is definitely a fan favorite, we overall just liked that it didn’t feel like anything that we’ve seen before. It felt like a performance only tnx could do and maybe it’s because skz have always prided themselves with the fact that they perform with that same mindest but the tempest stage paled in comparison. (Again, they did great just didn’t feel very original)

2024-12-14 21:50:35 +0000 UTCTNX made me want to listen to the song and watch the performance again, Tempest made me want to watch Stray Kids.

2024-11-30 12:16:50 +0000 UTCi haven’t watched this entire reaction yet, but in case you haven’t seen Cravity’s Veni Vidi Vici performance from the first week (it was cut because they lost, but it’s on YouTube) i think you’ll enjoy it.

2024-11-23 21:01:59 +0000 UTCOut of these performances, YOUNITE stole the show and Eunsang was definitely my favorite ace this round--his acting was stellar!! I chose YOUNITE > 8TURN bc 8TURN's performance did fill the stage for me, formation and vocal-wise. The vocals were good but didn't have the angst or anger I would expect for that song. Using the backup dancers during the big formations where they lined the stage felt like they took up space without adding impact. For the SKZ stages, I chose TNX > TEMPEST (as a tempest fan), mostly out of respect for the creativity to do a SKZ b-side bc the performances skill-wise were pretty even. TNX brought a great song to a new audience, esp one from the album that got me through COVID! For the maniac stage, I felt like it was a cover video and tempest didn't do enough to make it their own... I did think Lew stood out as the ACE winner of SKZ battle!

2024-11-23 19:08:22 +0000 UTCEunsang really shined in this episode, it's always crazy to me cus he seems so calm and soft spoken but then he goes on stage and does THAT!!!!! I will say that for tempest and 8turn, they chose really well known songs that I love and know very well and they just weren't able to live up to the expectations that I subconsciously had; in tempest's version, when the second verse hit and the song suddenly became brighter with the synth, it just felt like it strayed a bit from the theme of their performance for me, and while the dance break was much more on theme, like you said the transition was a bit jarring. For 8turn, I don't know why but to me their voices didn't always blend with the song for me especially in the chorus. Of course, this could be because i'm so used to enhypen vocals, but it just felt like their voices lacked a bit of the power required by the song? But again im no professional and these are just what i felt as i watched. Looking forward to know what your rankings for this round will be!!

2024-11-23 18:40:37 +0000 UTCYounite was amazing . They were my favorite overall performance and ace . Eunsang really pull off that evil laugh. I really hope younite after this show on their next comeback does a dark concept . I honestly think their darker concept fight the members aesthetic more then cutest / refreshing concept that mainly known for . But Lily the fact they can pull off all concept . .

2024-11-23 15:01:57 +0000 UTCJust got to the first battle of the video and I found your take very interesting! I feel like The New Six was the obvious fan favorite bc it felt more conceptually cohesive. Tempest had a bit of a prop hiccup and I think performing a popular song vs The New Six who completely rearranged a bside worked a bit against them. I do agree though that, while visually stunning at first, the butterfly bit was either too long or not captivating enough movement wise, especially off camera. But I will also say, in terms of the show’s standard ever since the original RTK, the show has grown to prefer props and staging over majorly choreo-driven performances which I think contributed to Tempest’s results and 8turn’s as well.
