Dev Diary #126: Girls' level 4

Here we are again, just us!

Although I was going to make an ‘important’ announcement, it doesn't affect you, so I won't go into detail. I'll explain everything in a post I'll write in a few weeks. To sum up, v4 will have a public version. Why? Because someone decided to leak v3 EA, so it no longer makes sense to keep this in petit comité until we consider this ‘remake/revamp’ mature/ready. As I said, I'll talk about this another day in a public post.

What's new, Keisi? Today, I bring you Glenda, Mabel, and our classic girls.

First, I should mention that the girls' cap is level 4 in this version. I know it's only one level, but as always, there are six girls to check/revise their levels. Not only that, but I'm taking the dirty/love talk thing further, and if applicable, I'll always try to add a new interaction with each main girl at each new level (linked to her love/sexiness level). I mean interactions that include new renders/images, not just text.

That said... Let's start with Mabel, as she has the fewest changes in this version:

If you remember, I didn't have time to add several things in the last version, including redoing Mabel's level 2-3.

Well, it's done now.

The truth is that making the scene (level 3) look good overall was quite tricky because sometimes synchronising Mabel's and the MC's movements correctly caused weird things to happen, especially with clipping. Even so, I really like the result, mainly because we've finally got rid of the old configuration. That configuration included a very subtle outline on the models, but it was noticeable. Now everything has the same consistency.

I've also decided to redo the background of her level 2. Now it makes more sense than it ever has. The old one exists because, at the beginning of the project, some girls' backgrounds didn't always follow the same logic (background = level), so sometimes there were variations. That no longer happens.

Still, if anyone prefers the old one, you can talk to Lisapi to enable that background.Not much else relevant has changed in Mabel, except improvements to her dialogues.

The same applies to Glenda, but the changes are more noticeable with her.I have to say that I always think that all this change with Glenda is a pain in the ass, but there's less and less to do, so there are fewer and fewer complaints.

I have to say (x2) that it must be because the string bikini is an interesting type of bikini, but redoing her level 4 hasn't been that much of a pain in the ass...

In fact, I've decided to add the option of asking Glenda to pose for you in her bikini.By the way, I've been wanting to ask you for years about your opinion on this whole ‘girl posing for you’ thing and how it's done (different camera angles of different parts of the body with dialogue in between), so for this version, I'm already jotting down several questions that I'll include in the new form because I'd like to know what you think about it.

But as I was saying, honestly, I think having the possibility to show her bikini is an addition that should have been there from the beginning. That's why, although necessary, it's something exceptional, as I prefer to reserve adding extras like this for the main girls, at least for now.

Speaking of which... Here's a quick summary and recap:

After completing Yuna's new task, you can ask her for a ‘snack’.

We will be able to unlock Anna's sexiness, meaning dirty talk dialogues will now be available at all times of Anna's day. But that's not the most important thing. Once this stat is unlocked, when we hug her in her room, there will be a new (two) variant depending on her sexiness level.

Mara... Have you always been curious about seeing a stretching session in her room? Don't suffer any longer; now you can see it.

All of this is related to each girl's level 4 because, as I said, my idea is to do something simple but fresh related to each new level. Everything includes dirty/love talk dialogues, of course.

The truth is that when these ideas go through my mind, they seem crazy but cool, at the same time as a pain in the ass because of the laziness of having to work on so many girls in such a short time. Luckily, they are the classic ones, so I have their personalities well worked out, and it's just a bit of laziness to work with multiple girls in a few days, as I prefer to focus on one at a time. Still, I like the result, and I enjoy seeing that the result brings good variety to all the girls.

I'm also really enjoying being able to spend time on things that aren't relevant, so to speak. All of this is extra content in the end. I've always tried to bring a lot of content of all kinds in a single version, including main quests, girls' tasks, etc... This time I'm working differently and the truth is that I'm working at a more relaxed pace, or more comfortably, I don't know what expression to use. Still, the important thing is that this is the way to go and this is how it's going to be from now on. Yes, I'm also looking forward to showing you things related to the main story and the new stuff I'm working on, but I don't think taking a mini-break between main content is a bad idea.

In any case, what has been taking me the most time the last few days is Maras' level 4, as I had to redo it—not only the renders but also the dialogues, although luckily the dialogues weren't too crazy; I've rewritten about 50-60% of the level, tho. It's quite a lot, but it's necessary. All this is because I tried to make the scene flow better.The funny thing about this level is that in the part where Maria scolds Mara, Mara's fangs are visible, but in the rest of the level? Nope. The same thing happened when we first met her... when I decided to improve Maria's hair when she's wearing the veil, I decided (I don't know why) that Mara had to have her fangs visible in those parts but not in the rest... nonsense. So, you know how it goes, I had to do extra work because in the end, I also redid the part where Maria scolds Mara.

Even so, it's not a waste of time for me because I'm taking advantage of all this to try to improve Mara's expressions in general so that they are more in line with her personality. I think I'm reaching the point where it's happening the same as with Anna, and it's starting to come naturally to me that her expressions are gradually forming a better personality. Or at least that's my impression.

I have to mention something brief about this part. Now (v3.D):Before (v22):This change isn't just in what you can see; the dialogues have also been changed. This is because, until now, Mara was too assertive, and Maria didn't really do anything about it. That's because this scene is ‘cut,’ but the renders were never changed. Originally, Mara was going to cross the line with Maria, and Maria would use Mara's powers against her to end up tied up and ‘tamed’ (remember that she's an alpha). At first, this seemed fine, but as I wrote the scene... it didn't feel right, especially because the MC wasn't going to do anything in particular about it. So I decided to cut that whole part and make the scene happen as you know it.

As I said, all that has changed now. I prefer this to the old version, not for any particular reason, but because until now, that part looked strange.

And this? Huh, has taken me all morning, but I always wanted to redo this part too, not because of the lighting or anything, but because of the girls' poses. I thought it was funny at the time, but... it's not very realistic, and “hentai logic” doesn't work either.Now that I've been exercising for a while and have learned different stretches... I know full well that there are positions where no amount of logic can save the logic, so... it was time to change that.Now I think it looks much better. Some have kept the same pose, as I don't think it's a bad pose for the purpose of this scene.That includes the session with the MC and Mara.

I think these changes, although subtle, make a change for the better (v22 vs v3.D comparison).

At least for me, I like the poses they have now much better.
