so as you stated above "the Detention Sphere enters the battlefield.." means it already entered when state based actions are checked. which means it should be untapped. however i think you are probably right about the lifegain.

My thought process was that the Detention Sphere enters the battlefield. My Authority of the Consuls sees something entering the battlefield. State based actions would look at that permanent to see if it is a creature. Since it's now on the field while state based actions are checking it, Authority would see it as an creature since Starfield of Nyx is online. Thus it enters tapped. Of course it was entirely unimportant in the game whether the enchantment entered tapped (the lifegain was all that mattered), but it is good to clarify the rulings for future misunderstandings in similar cases.

Did you ever double check on the starfield of nyx and consult interaction? We needed a level 3 judge for that!
