In the Flanaess (Greyhawk), Maure Castle was located in the Duchy of Urnst. Beginning with Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure printed in 1984 and continuing in Dungeon Magazine issues #112, #124 and #139, this incredible dungeon delve has inspired many DMs to take their players through a memorable adventure. Yet another adventure and level of Maure Castle called "Warlock's Walk" written by Robert J. Kuntz was added in Oerth Journal #23.
This adventure and mighty dungeon was originally written by Gary Gygax and Robert J. Kuntz and expounded on in Dungeon Magazine #112 by James Jacobs and Erik Mona. The original maps in Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure were created by Eric Nelson Shook and then remade by Robert Lazaretti.
