These maps were created in 2019 for Ryan Benter, a friend and fellow adventurer.
In 1995 I met Ryan Benter, who - I quickly discovered - would be one of the best friends that anyone could ever have. Although my brother Eric and I had begun playing D&D with the basic set and B2: "The Keep on the Borderlands" in the early 80s, it was with Ryan, Luke, Roy, Eric, Jeff and a number of others that our love of role playing was rekindled, and we shared many adventures together. Those adventures happened in the mid 90s. At the time, Ryan was working as a paramedic. Our careers eventually separated us, but our group stayed in touch until 2018, when we decided to try playing D&D using an online virtual tabletop. It was a learning experience, but it worked, and that was where my love of cartography took root and why I still continue to make maps today. Ryan asked that I make him a few maps in 2019, and I have updated and re-rendered them here.
Ryan grabbed his backpack, checked his rations, and headed out on the final journey on Saturday, November 16th, 2024.
