The northernmost island of the Spindrifts features a wide bay on its western coast, Meabelle Bay. Two towns dominate bay-area life; Ialenor on the north coast and Olfnoris on the south coast.
Along the north shore of the bay as you approach Ialenor, wide beaches give way to tall rocky cliffs topped with lush greenery. At the mouth of a narrow cove are a few sandstone buildings gracefully carved out of the cliff face, and sailing ships of various sizes are moored near them. The town is mostly set back in the cove so very little is visible from the Bay. If you arrive in the evening, the sounds of celebration echo through the cove as the townspeople socialize late into the night.
The buildings continue several levels below the waterline, where some residents dwell underwater, typically those with young children or frail elderly. Ships of a wide range of sizes and shapes are docked, and some ships are always out in the bay at any hour. Off shore are sea stacks where ships moor nearby and young elves with too much bravado cliff dive off of them.
In the water near shore are colored patterns under the water where several types of seaweed, oysters, clams, urchins and other sea foods are farmed. Along the tops of the cliffs, footpaths lead to nearby agricultural areas: orchards, tea shrubs, and veggies. Rarely do the they use these paths to journey inland; travel to other towns and villages is by sea.
Ialenor is home to about a thousand sea elves. The populace includes clerics and mystics of Sehanine as well as a few who revere Deep Sashelas. The largest building is a majestic temple to Sehanine, built near the top of the cliff face in the center of town, best positioned for moonlight to shine upon and within it.
