Henrietta's Rage

Following Seth’s words, Lisa immediately sealed the whole space. After ensuring Seth could not escape, she broke the space at his abdomen, creating a large hole running through his body.

Seth recoiled back, blood leaking down the corner of his lips as his consciousness blanked out right after.

Lisa watched the life fading from Seth’s eyes, and her entire body went cold. Her face paled, unable to believe what she had just done.

Before she could wrap her mind around everything, her space prison shattered. All types of different energies hit her simultaneously, throwing her body like a ragdoll through the wall of her apartment, bouncing along the street for more than a hundred feet until she stopped.

She managed to block most of the attack with her darkness energy, but various bruises and wounds still covered her body. As she stood back, she noticed that four women had appeared in her apartment.

Maya, Hollie, and Caitlin were all checking up on Seth, with Caitlin immediately working on healing his body. Simultaneously, Henrietta was focused on Lisa, her golden hair floating a few inches away from her body, destruction energy arcs forming all over it.

“He’ll be fine,” said Caitlin, pumping life energy into Seth to recover the damage Lisa’s attack caused, relieving the anxiousness in Maya’s eyes.

Henrietta didn’t even hear the words coming from behind her, her body disappearing in the next moment, appearing right behind Lisa, a lance of destruction in her hand.

Lisa also appeared relieved to hear Caitlin’s words but didn’t get to say anything since Henrietta attacked too quickly.

Lisa allowed herself to sink into her shadow, moving away from the attack and appearing behind Henrietta, a water net leaving her hand and heading for Henrietta’s back.

Henrietta ignored her attack completely, turning around with a sweeping motion, the destruction lance in her hand transforming into a long sword and slicing towards Lisa’s neck.

Forced to cancel her attack, Lisa tried to use her darkness energy again to escape but quickly discovered her energy was moving slower than usual.

With Henrietta slowing down her time, Lisa could only watch the attack heading straight for her neck.

Before Henrietta’s attack connected, a layer of ice covered her body, freezing her in place and giving Lisa enough time to use her energy to create some distance.

When Henrietta broke the ice prison, she turned around, her eyes gaining a dark red hue as they looked at Maya. “Why?”

Maya shook her head, looking between the two with a sigh. “Stand down. Seth is fine. If he wanted Lisa dead, she would have died without him having to lift a finger. Before he wakes up, she cannot die.”

Lisa sighed in relief, but Henrietta’s face remained filled with unwillingness and rage, “Fine. She will not die.”

Maya barely got to nod when Henrietta disappeared from where she stood, appearing right behind Lisa, who had just let down her guard.

Under the control of her time energy, Henrietta’s foot moved faster than Lisa could muster any energy, kicking her right in the face and propelling her into a nearby wall.

Sighing softly, Maya shook her head and turned to look at Caitlin, “How long?”

“Three minutes? Tops,” answered Caitlin, not stopping even a second from pumping life energy into Seth. “The attack broke a part of his soul but didn’t injure any sources.”

Maya nodded and turned back to watch Henrietta, “Let’s hope our little princess won’t beat Lisa to death until then.”

Henrietta was indeed mercilessly kicking Lisa all over the place. Having gained an advantage, Henrietta no longer allowed Lisa to defend herself.

A minute later, Lisa’s face was completely swollen, her bones broken, and her clothes all gone. No matter how frustrated guilty, in pain, or ashamed Lisa felt, Henrietta was like a demon; each hit being more powerful than the last.

After getting punched into another wall, just as she prepared herself for another hit, a powerful hand gripped her by the neck, lifting her from the ground.

With her swollen eyes, Lisa could barely make up Henrietta’s cold and dark red eyes staring at her.

“Do you know how many times you escaped death because of him? You ungrateful sow?”

“What did he do to you to deserve you trying to kill him? Cut the hand off your bastard father? Did you even think that he also saved his life? All of our lives?”

“Didn’t he save Oath? Save this world? Saved your family? Saved you? What right do you have to try and kill him, you bitch?”

“Do you know how many times he had to die cruel and miserable deaths just so that he could save us all? I saw him bleeding out, getting his heart ripped out of his chest, having his sources and bones smashed to smithereens, tortured for years.”

“I had to watch him howl in pain as his soul slowly broke into pieces repeatedly. All so he could come here and one of the ones he fought so hard to save to try and kill him?”

Tears were running down Henrietta’s cheeks, and her destruction energy was moving all around her and Lisa’s bodies.

She bit on her lip hard enough that her teeth pierced right through before dissipating her energy and throwing Lisa onto the ground.

“And he saved you again just now, or I would have killed and hanged you by the palace gates myself.”

With Lisa already on the brink of death and passed out, Henrietta turned around and teleported next to the others, looking at Seth with a worried face.

“What was that about dying?” asked Maya with a frown, but Henrietta ignored her question, turning to Caitlin instead, “How is he?”

“He’s fine now. He should wake up at any moment,” replied Caitlin, looking up at Henrietta. Noticing the blood leaking from her mouth, her tear-drenched face, and that Henrietta had chewed off part of her lip, she raised one of her eyebrows and asked, “Want me to heal it?”

Henrietta felt her lip, and her eye twitched as she shook her head: “Focus on Seth so he can recover before that bitch dies from blood loss. This is nothing significant.”

With Caitlin turning back at Seth, Henrietta also looked at Maya, and her eyes flashed dark red again, “Why did you let him come here alone? You know he’s weaker now than all of us.”

Surprisingly, Maya lowered her head and said, “We didn’t think she would attack like that...”

Henrietta snorted and didn’t say anything else.

In the meantime, Hollie stayed silent on the side, with a pondering look as she observed Seth’s wounds.

She knew the others probably didn’t notice due to their strong feelings, but Caitlin must have known beforehand, so she whispered into her ears, “Quite the dangerous game you two are playing.”

Caitlin looked up from Seth and winked at Hollie with a smile, confirming her guess immediately.

Seth woke up a few seconds later, slowly standing up and looking at everyone around him. Noticing the worry in Maya and Henrietta’s eyes, he smiled wryly and said, “She got me pretty good, didn’t she?”

Maya smiled back, but Henrietta just turned her head to the side, refusing to reply.

Seth stood up with Caitlin’s help and looked at Lisa’s battered body in the distance between looking at Henrietta’s bruised hands and feet.

Moving his hand, he rubbed Henrietta’s head and said: “You went too far.”. After that, he asked Caitlin: “Can you heal Lisa as well?”

With Caitlin nodding and drifting to where Lisa was, Seth sighed and said to Maya, “Have Pearl work on fixing this place up and make an announcement with some excuse to calm everyone.”

After Maya nodded, Henrietta couldn’t take it anymore and said, “Why are you all acting like this is normal? She just tried to kill you, and you will do nothing about it, worrying about the damage to the city and her health?”

Seth rubbed her head again and smiled, “The others already figured it out, but I’ll tell you later. Go and get yourself healed at the academy for now. I was never in any danger anyway.”

Henrietta was caught unaware and looked suspiciously at Seth before just teleporting away. “You better have a damn good excuse.”

Noticing that Maya also appeared confused, Seth laughed and went to kiss her lips.

“Go with Hollie and take care of the announcement and repairs. She’ll tell you what happened on the way.”

Maya just nodded and allowed Hollie to carry them both away.

With the others gone, Seth teleported to Caitlin’s side and asked: “How is she?”

“Henri did a real number on her… I can heal the physical injuries to her body, but her sources… she will have to do that herself.”

“At least she still has them… I didn’t expect Henrietta to be so ruthless,” said Seth with a thoughtful look.

“I’m more surprised Maya didn’t do it first.” said Caitlin.

“Why didn’t you stop them, as I said? You already knew I was fine.”

Caitlin adverted her eyes and said, “She deserved it. I know we devised the plan of me holding on to five of your sources in case this happened, but her going for the kill with the first attack was too much.”

Seth sighed and shook his head.

“You girls are going to be the death of me. She’s under the influence of her darkness source, and that’s why she attacked as she did. She also didn’t expect me to have only a space source in my body to protect myself….”

“Stop looking for excuses for her. We all had our demons growing stronger, but none forgot all you did for us.”

“It’s not the same, Cait. You all have a balance, or your energies are milder than usual. Darkness energy is cruel, even harder to manage than my destruction. Didn’t you see Henrietta also lose herself to her energy just now?”

“Yes, but she still didn’t kill Lisa. She held back.”

Seth could only sigh to that and, since people were already gathering around, used his space energy to move along with the girls back into his room at the imperial palace.

Once there, Caitlin asked, “Do you think it worked?”

“I saw her eyes when she thought she killed me… It should have.”

“I’ll hold onto your sources just in case,” said Caitlin, standing up and walking towards the door. “If this happens again, I’ll snuff out her life before Henrietta can.”

Seth looked at Caitlin’s back before turning to Lisa’s unconscious face and heaved a long sigh.

“When did all my adorable wives become so scary?”
