If you want to know what keeps the creators of the Freddy Kreuger franchise going, this issue will explain it all! If you like lavishly illustrated magazines...well, you're going to have to be willing to put up with a version of lavish illustration that's mostly on newsprint. But if you like a writing style that veers crazily between breathless boosterism and leering slander, then we've got a magazine for you!
Step up to the blood-spattered butcher's block and pick out a hacked-out chunk to take home. We've got everything you like: a very careful way of pronouncing "horror"; a very enthusiastic set of things to say about some dude who calls himself DOCTOR Cyclops; even a visit from some old, old friends.

So I'm not a big Lovecraft fan, but I do want to point out that ST Joshi has really played a huge part in reprinting Lovecraft, keeping him in print, etc. All I'm saying is: you can say "oh god I don't want to read an UNEDITED version of Lovecraft, Jesus Christ," but it's TOO LATE: chances are, whatever Lovecraft you've read, you've read in Joshi's version. What a twist!
