Fresh off us mentioning Starship Troopers and somebody suggesting we watch it, we sit down with two-plus hours of prime Paul Verhoeven. Sassy takes on the US of A, gratuitous nudity that's probably also on some level a sassy take on the US of A, paper-flat acting that -- you guessed it -- is probably on some level a sassy take on the US of A, and a whole lot of gut-splattering violence that we absolutely guarantee is a sassy, satirical even, take on the US of A, Starship Troopers packs a lot into its runtime, and so do we with ours. Grab your helmet and report to duty under your meanest high school teacher, because it's time to blast off and take on ... troopers, who spend some time on a ... starship.
P.S., if this was a real satire, there'd be a scene where a bug gets flipped onto its back and can't turn over. xo, Clsn
