Friends-Only Post No. 28: Silver Eyes on the Prize

Big day!  Rich, loamy, potent day.  Two episodes blasted from our fervid brains into Online, ready to be caught by technology and laced into your ears, as is, naturally, your wont slash firm preference.  AND a friends-only email!?  We can only hope your loins were sufficiently girded this morning, such that you were prepared for an onslaught of this magnitude.*

You may well have noticed that last week be-featured zero updating emailery from The Only Podcast That Loves You; you may have been upset.  If so, all apologies, and only just a little bit in the way of an excuse.  My excuse goes like this: I was getting ready to go on vacation and I had a metric butt-ton to do first, including [redacted] and [redacted], and what with that and certain other things, I flat-out forgot.  I mention this only because while on vacation I did fail entirely to escape the books, the bad books, that are my heart's delight, my morality's poison, my podcast work's meat and drink.  Thus did I duck into a small thrift store, in a place that shall remain entirely unnamed but which is barely even a town, only to be braced brutally by an ancient foe, as well as my greatest inspiration.

In some ways, of course, this is a most beneficial and delightful outcome, in that I am straight heartened by any occasion I receive to be reminded of the charisma of Mr. Shatner, which has so benefited my life.  In other ways, it's a very funny outcome, in that it's almost always a good time to be reminded of the existence of Rich "rich" Shapero and his sheep-stalking ways, but in a final way, it's a terrible burden always to be shadowed by and aware of the full bloom of madness and obsession curdled into book form...  Why -- why -- and how -- how -- do we live with such knowledge?  Stay tuned, because it seems we're likely to find out in the coming months, years, episodes, what such a robust diet of villainy can do to a pair of otherwise reasonably high-quality minds.

Hey.  While I have you.  One piece of business.  If you haven't already, it would mean a LOT to us if you would write us in here: https://onion.typeform.com/to/FVMFu3

We're trying to grow the podcast, and a little attention from venues like this would go a long way toward helping us to do so.  It takes literally seconds to write us in, so please take one minute to write us in -- and if you want to advocate to your friends and family that they do the same, it would help us out a lot.

Now then.  I have mentioned that two episodes have of late (viz., today) come out.  This was true.  One thing I have not mentioned is that I was working on one of the episodes, trying, as I do, to pick a dramatic reading to perform, and having more difficulty than usual settling on one.  In fact, I had three that came to mind.  I did one -- only one -- in the show context, but I'm not entirely sure that the one I picked gave the full flavor of the book.  So, in the spirit of An Extra ... I give you ... more of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes.

What have we got for you?  Well, how about a little alternative cold open?  How about a completely non-dramatic scene read with some drama?  How about some of the better scary gore-stuff from the book!?  Yes.

Anyway.  We hope all's well with you, and we will be back in your scene with a quickness.

For IDEOTVPOD, Clsn

*Side note: our new project, "Manga Dudes of Magnitude Drop Manga 'Tude" will be debuting reasonably soon.  Please anticipate it!
