Friends-Only Email No. 22: Voices in the Night (More)

COME, FRIENDS

Come ... inside. Welcome to another edition of IDEOTVPOD After Dark! I'm your host, the Man Who Made the Mediocre Marinara, the Man Who's Quaffing the Lime La Croix, the Little Man with the (USB) Mic in His Hand -- that's right! I'm Chris Collision.

Yes. And welcome to my evening! This Monday, I am, as I am so very often, thinking mainly of you -- you, our friends. And I was thinking, "Crimony, how in the world am I to entertain these friends these evening, so tired am I, so empty, so devoid of charm, incident, anecdote?" As I hanged my very laundry upon the foldy drying rack, so moistly undergarmenty and private, it came to me: "Record some shit, dude."

And so I have done.

Yes.

SOUNDS FROM THE PAST

Yes, I had to go back to The Rats. What is this? This is basically me indulging myself, because I love doing readings and whatnot -- and I do understand that my dream job, voicing Gruff Goofy Guy No. 2 in generic anime dubs for Midwestern adolescents, is likely out of reach for a number of reasons -- and, given that my dream job is basically being done by Jeff Gedert or whoever, I'm reduced to nominating myself James Herbert Book Reader No. 2 (Amateur Division).

ANYway.

Something about this passage makes me laugh, and it was my absolute pleasure to bring it to you -- or, anyway, to the very, very few of you who haven't already gone ahead and waded hip-deep into the wonders of Herbert (James comma author of The Rats).

SOUNDS THAT ABOUND AND RESOUND AND REBOUND OFF THE CEILING

Because I can resist anything but entertaining you, our friends, I also recorded a choice slice from an episode that has yet to appear.

It explains much of that which is hot, and I hope you are well prepared to encounter thick wisdom yet untrammeled. Prepare yourself. Center.

Endure.

CONTEST ENTRIES

Whoa, we got SO MANY CONTEST ENTRIES in our "write us a terrible National Novel Writing Month paragraph" contest. We didn't get as many as I was afraid of at one point, when, due to a pasting error+ I briefly believed there were some 55 pages of entries, but still. So many entries, so great.

The judging begins.

Yes.

+Yeah, yeah, I know, I know.

THANKS

--Collision for IDEOTVPOD
