Friends-Only Post No. 8: Contemplations on the Tree of Woe

WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK ETC.

We have been busy, friends. We recorded two separate episodes in a week, scheduled a rip-shit live show, picked our next couple books, lined up a passel of superb guests -- we are pumped as all get-out, and we think you're really going to enjoy what we're getting ready for you.

But dang, I am tired. Gonna take a couple days off, go off into the woods and try to forget I own a phone, you know? Probably a good idea for all of us now and again. (Also I just read the new Harper's, and it's good. I recommend it as a quiet break from the crapalanche of bad media that's frequently fun, but that we don't always exactly have to seek out, you know? Feed your soul, with camping, or dog pictures, or giving blood, or whatever.)

WHAT'S COMING DOWN PIKEWISE

In a couple days, you'll hear the next episode. Gird your loins and limber up your ears, because this one is going to sear you. Sex. Violence. A little more sex. A lot more violence. We haven't bathed deeply in the gathering gloom of anything like this before, and, if you will allow us, I'd like to give you just the teeniest sneak peak into what's just days away from your life.
