Outbreak Scenario 22

You were on a solo scavenging run, only gone a day, when everything changed. Returning to camp at dusk, you find smoke still rising from the wreckage. Bodies are scattered, tents slashed open, and supplies gone. No one survived.
You don’t need to guess who did it. A larger group had passed through two weeks ago, asking questions and sizing up your camp. You turned them away. Now they’ve come back.
The tracks they left are fresh. You could catch them if you leave tonight. But they outnumber you, and they're armed.

This comes across as a situation where weaponized hordes solve the problem with minimal risk to the clever and cautious. Noise makers, patience, a getaway plan, and you're golden.
