Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven Content poll

To keep pushing the danger of the story, I want to consider the death of characters in the game. So far, there are certain characters with plot armor, meaning they cannot be killed. Some characters can die due to circumstances or be saved, making their presence in the story variable. Other characters will always die, which we call scripted deaths. Now that we are in Part 4, I am wondering about your thoughts on how to proceed with character deaths.

Before you answer, please realize that plot armor allows some stability in the group and makes coding much, much easier for me. The same goes for scripted deaths, as these characters are written out of the game, simplifying the coding process and making room for new characters. Characters with variable deaths are much harder to code and account for, but they add dynamism and replayability to the game.

ugh really wish people would choose the 4th option. Plot Armor and scripted deaths for this kind of game beyond at least 4 chapters is sort of ridiculous as it takes away from player choice.

As much as this will hurt, as we've grown attached to characters. It's a necessary step forward for the world and story building.

A total villian playthrough sounds fun or the MC can choose to ultimately go down that route.

I think that, by the end of the game, almost every character should have had at least 1 opportunity to die, unless there's some specific reason that they need to survive to the end. Especially if there's some big climax at the end, I think there should be opportunities for a lot of people to be saved/died based on your decisions and skills. However, I don't think that needs to be a thing until the end, the way it is now is perfectly fine, for now.

I completely agree, but also I plan to start an evil playthrough and I just want to be given the ability to kill any of them as a choice.

I picked the 4th choice. I feel like getting to Chapter 4 is where things really gets started and it would make sense where the choices you've taken so far, the preparations, whether you trained certain characters in specific skillsets or not should be a factored in for whether they either survive, succeed or fail in future challenges from now on. All Chapters before 4 could be considered a tutorial.

Man all I want is for an evil character to be able to kill whoever they want.
