Content Sneak Peek

Here is a scene from chapter 14 in which you go to explore the Marsten Library on the campus of the fictitious Central Colorado University. You meet someone over an intercom stationed outside the front doors of the library. He asks a lot of questions, and here is the start of the scene.

I'm interested to see what option you choose, or if you have another way that you would answer his question.

---

As you stand outside the library, a sudden flurry of movement catches your eye—the birds from overhead, dark against the sky, flutter and swoop overhead before descending upon another building, their wings cutting silently through the air. A distant vehicle's growl punctuates the quiet, its rumble echoing off the deserted buildings lining the campus. Around you, the wind whispers through the overgrown grass, carrying the faint, mixed scents of rust and pine from the nearby forests. All of these things distract you momentarily from Alexey until he speaks up again.

Alexey's voice lifts with a hint of excitement. "Now my next question. Don't worry, because we are almost done. Let's say, in this new world, you're on a run for supplies and stumble upon two groups needing help. On one side, a family with young ones, barely getting by, hunger in their eyes. On the other, a band of skilled folks, capable of beefing up your place's defense but just as hungry. You've got just enough to save one group. Who do you choose, and what drives your decision, eh?"

Comments

I would have to go with the innocent family. If the other survivors are truly skilled then they will be able to fend for themselves.

Wayne

As a mother, my heart goes with the family, but I would ask Alexey if the 2 groups are in the same place, then why the stronger group hasn't helped the family.
