Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven Sneak Peek

I am back to coding missions in chapter 14, and am starting back up with Brody and Madison heading to the stripmall. In the parking lot are numerous zombies, and you must decide how to handle them.

One of the options is to shoot them with ranged weapons. Below is the start of the option. I thought it would be good to show you, because it introduces a minigame. As you will see, the twins challenge you to a zombie killing contest. The game tracks how many you kill against Brody and Madison.

It's also an important contest, because it allows me to test out a new feature in which you can choose the rate of fire of an automatic weapon. For example, you can choose to go full although, three-round burst, or single fire. I know not all guns have 3 modes of fire, but to simplify the game, I am giving all burst weapons these three options.

"Good choice. This should be cake," Brody says with his usual air of confidence. He steps out of the Cadillac with his hunting rifle ready.

Madison follows him outside the Cadillac, reaches in through a window and pulls out her AR-15 rifle. "Hey, why don't we make this interesting? The one who hits the least amount of crazies get out of chores for week. The losers have to do them for the winner."

"Sounds good to me. You think you're the best shot around here, but you're really not," Brody says, smirking at her. Taking a steady stance, he aims the rifle at a wandering zombie in the distance. At a distance of two-hundred feet, you know it's a challenging shot but well within the rifle's range. He inhales, holding his breath to steady his aim, and pulls the trigger.
