Zombie Exodus: Side Stories, Brody & Madison 1

The story begins after the events of the prologue. After SNOW-A-PALOOZA, Brody and Madison went into the attic of their family home to hide from the infected running through their property. These events can be read in the official app in the Stories from the Outbreak DLC. You can also read the follow-up story of Madison and Brody going to Chipper Ridge, where they eventually meet the main character. The story we will be building will start in the attic, and your choices will dictate how the twins survive the early days of the outbreak.

---

Early the next morning, Brody and Madison sat in the dusty attic in the hallway above the second floor. Brody looked across the yard through a circular window, his forehead shriveling from tension. He counted ten crazies wandering in the pool area. Many more roamed the street in the distance.

“We can’t stay here,” he said.

“I know. We only have a few sandwiches left, and I’m tired of going to the bathroom in a bucket,” she said, frowning as she stared at the metal pail in the far corner.

“Where do we go from here?” Brody asked.

Madison thought for a moment. She didn’t want to be the pair's leader but didn’t want to leave the thinking to her brother. He’s more muscular and more athletic, but I’m much more intelligent. “The way I see it, we have three options. We can try to get to uncle Nate’s house-”

“Mom said he’s not home.”

Madison scoffed. “Will you let me finish? I was going to say he’s not home, but he has lots of supplies. We could get guns and food, camping equipment, and lots of things. We can go outside the city and live there, away from the crazies. The second option is Rich Kovatch’s house.”

“Why his house?”

“He has that house on a hill with that big iron fence that wraps around it. I doubt any of the crazies could get in. We could check if Jenna is there.”

“Wasn’t Jenna at the party?” Brody asked.

“No, I didn’t invite her. Rich’s house is probably super secure. Remember when we went to Jenna’s party, and they have that walk-in freezer with all the meats and cheeses hanging? We could survive off that food for weeks or even months.”

Brody held his stomach. “They had the best steaks at that party.”

“Anyway, we could go to Nightfall Lake. Mom has that boat docked out there, and we could sail it into the middle of the water. I doubt the crazies can swim. We can stay out there and only come back to shore when we need food.”

Comments

I concur with above said option of going to classmates home. They had the best steaks there.

I feel like Uncle Nate and his home can show up in the main game, so I favor the classmate's home. Though I think this is a good side story to touch up on. Always wanted to go back and try to help them in my teenage mc playthroughs.
