Zombie Exodus: Aftermath, scene 31
Added 2022-10-04 17:15:27 +0000 UTC“Let’s grab that Jeep and get the hell out of here. I never want to see this camp again,” you say and follow Megan to the west, around the sleeping tents. She quickly stops for another M-16 and several filled magazines before you continue to the edge of camp. Gunshots come from the north, while screams from the south. You can’t see what’s happening and focus on running to the Jeep. It’s painted army green and has a machine gun on the back mounted on a tripod with an ammunition belt hanging from the weapon to an ammo box. As soon as you reach the vehicle, Megan fishes in her pocket and pulls out a set of keys.
“I’ll drive. Either buckle up in the front seat or get in the back on that M-60.”
You’re not experienced with high-powered machine guns but can’t give up the chance to fire one of these. The Jeep starts as soon as you set foot in the back; you fall against the massive firearm. The vehicle bounces over the high grass terrain, but you hold onto the M-60 and use it as support while Megan drives out of camp.
When you make it a quarter-mile away, you can see smoke rising from the center of the tents. Gunshots fire down from the watchtowers towards the south. Megan cuts to the north and a path that should take you around the forest. You ride for at least ten minutes until you finally meet a dirt path straddling the woods north of camp. The distant call of rifle fire comes from a short distance.
“They’re just up ahead!” yells a male voice, which sounds like the captain.
Bursting through the trees, Jesse runs a few feet, trips, and falls across the dirt road. Megan twists the steering wheel and sends the Jeep veering to the left, narrowly missing Jesse. Cameron and Steven run just behind her, both dropping to their knees on the side of the road.
“Jesse, Cameron, I can’t believe I found you guys!” you shout.
“It’s about time. Got room for three more?” Jesse says with a smile.
“Where are Portland and Serena?” you ask.
“I think they went northeast,” Cameron says and points to the right side of the road with his good hand. “Drive on and get them. They have a whole squad after them. You don’t have time to pick us up.”
As Cameron speaks, you see movement from the forest. A bullet whizzes over Steven’s head, causing him to duck.
Megan turns to you and says, “What are we doing?”
