Games by JimD Newsletter – Game Schedule for 2019

Happy Holidays! I am off from my normal job this week, so I’ve been putting in solid days of writing. I’ve made consistent progress on all of my titles and plan to keep the momentum going into 2019. In this newsletter, I’ll share my progress and my plans for the next year.

Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven

Part 2-2: I finished 90% of the Pharmacy Mission this month and am now working on the feedback from my testers. For those of you who would like an opportunity to test, I may do a short-term open beta in January. I’ll post on social media if I decide to do that.I should have all of the Part 2-2 content finished by mid-January. I’ll provide it to my beta testers for a week or two and then hand it in to Hosted Games. My hope is that they will publish it in February.

Part 3: As soon as I am finished with Part 2-2, I will immediately continue working on Part 3. I said “continue” since I already started it. Several sections were written in the summer, and one of my contributors, Mia, penned a mission that got bumped from Part 2 to Part 3. I am breaking it up into 5 chapters with 3 scenes per chapter. My goal is to write one scene per month—a daunting schedule. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.

Vampire: In the Sun’s Shadow

I should be done writing Episode 3 this week. As you may recall, FableLabs will publish the first 3 episodes as soon as I send in the code and they finish the graphics. Currently, they are 60% finished with the original artwork, comprising roughly 30 assets. I am truly excited at this new game and a chance to add graphics to my writing. The image above is an early storyboard showing 3 characters you will meet in the game.

As a reminder, in this game, you play a brand-new vampire in a new city. Once reborn as an immortal, you must learn about your new Vampiric Gifts and solve numerous mysteries surrounding your unlife, how you became a vampire, and the role you now play among the other supernatural beings in the city.
