Long-term mission: Teenager

So far, we have chosen that Eli gives you the number to a family friend's vacation house where the teen's parents were staying. Calling the number, the MC speaks with the father's friend, saying they left for Nightfall to search for the teen MC.

Assuming the MC continues this path of searching for their parents, what is the next step?

Broken-down Car: The MC finds their parents' car on the road into Nightfall. The car is abandoned and shot up, with blood on the windshield.

Graffiti Note:  The MC finds a message painted on a random wall as they leave the highway into Nightfall. It starts with the MC's name and, "Looked 4U. Going to Uncle Bill's."

Radio Report: Nearing Nightfall, the radio tunes to an emergency station. A message mentions names of survivors taking refuge at a nearby FEMA camp. The MC's parents are there.

Silverthorne Militia: While scouting a Silverthorne Militia outpost, the MC overhears their parents' names mentioned as new members.

Comments

The car feels too final, it seems to kill hope and possibly kill the storyline. The graffiti doesn't feel real. The last two are the most interesting to me, either the FEMA camp (though FEMA would get it's @$$ kicked by the zombies in reality) or the parents being in the Silverthorne militia, which I feel would be the best and most interesting way to have the plotline continue.

The car makes the most sense to me especially if they were trying to get back and locate their kid. Spray painting really should be on the car and later whats left of the house, a wall at his school, and at workplaces of his/her parents and include a radio frequency, as well as when they were there and a cryptic hint as to where they'll be looking next. The last location that they leave a spray paint message could have an empty can and still wet paint just for poking at the MC's sense of urgency. Could be taken in by survivors in the area or 'taken' by the Silverthorns at that point. Dramatic tension....
