40 years of Mishkin (naughty forty)

Hello Humans!

I wanted to make this post on my birthday (10th Feb) but as you know I had tonsillitis so everything this month is a little late.

I hope you enjoy this video of me reflecting on the last 40 years... and you'll join me for the next!

I'll be doing a 40th Birthday Livestream on THURSDAY MARCH 13th.

I hope you can join me as I play songs from all my projects chronologically, stretched across the years.

Instead of a Photobox this month I have chosen some select "moments" that I thought you could enjoy below... much love to you all and thank you for your support over the last few years. I would not be where I am without you.

Me and my older siblings, James & Meg. Even in this pic I look very, very naughty and nothing has changed ;)

Garry and I in 2016, about to shoot the iconic music video for "Deathbed Confession". The band was really starting to take off at this point and I felt we were on the wave of something really special... it was an incredible day. I will never forget riding in a real tank.

Birdeatsbaby post-show at The Black Heart, London. You can really feel the love (and silliness) between the members of this line-up and I'll forever be grateful to have these people in my life!

My manager Simon and I in the summer of the pandemic, picking mushrooms. I was newly sober at this point and enjoying the unplug from all the touring. This was a real chance for me to re-assess my life and rediscover what was important. Simon's never-ending support (especially with my decision to quit alcohol) over the years has been unparalleled.

Hana and I discovering that we could actually be comedians with our spin-off series "Who Are HVIRESS?", another pandemic project that grew wings and has now become a fully fledged band with upcoming album...

Embracing the colour grey and my new "parent status" as step-mum to Garry's beautiful child, Elise. Elise features in nearly all the HVIRESS videos and something tells me she'll be back...

Making "HEX" with Scott Chalmers. This one didn't make the cover but I love this look of the band, it's so spooky, witchy and sexy all at the same time.

Before we signed the contract with Reigning Phoenix, Frank (our German manager) took us out for a very posh meal in Brighton. Naturally we ordered ALL the desserts.

Mister Lordi signing my boobs on the last night of our tour with them. We still keep in touch and we now share the same sound engineer, "Mikko" who is now a member of the Crimson Crew.

Finally - Garry and I about to get emotional for the Phantom of the Opera - a musical which has long since influenced my song-writing. I could watch it 100 times and not get bored.

----

So, what is there left to do? Well...

Thanks for being here. See you all soon.

Love,

Mishkin x

Hi Halvor! Thank you so much for this feedback... I love Supernatural too haha although I stopped watching it a while ago it was great fun. I'm glad you're still here after all these years and I can't thank you enough for the support. Some more stories + past reflections sounds great, I love unpacking my songs so I feel like going into some of the parts of my life when I wrote them would be good. I've added that content to my patreon schedule. Thank you again and much love x

In terms of feedback - I came here for the music, but the sole reason I'm staying is the depth and authenticity in everything you do and the way you present things to us. This more or less means that even if i personally disagree with some of you spiritual views then there is still something real and interesting for me in that content. It also helps that I've always had a deep fascination with the occult (I'm one of those weirdoes who will be rewatching Supernatural 'til the day i die), and having these things in my life also provide som value for me even if i don't directly believe in them. I think just keep being yourself and you'll also be providing what I'm after, maybe I'll even be asking for some spells down the road just in case they actually work and magik is real after all 😁 Oh, and share more stories and past reflections if you don't mind!

Halvor

Happy 40th!
