Hello there astonishing patrons!
Happy Halloween from the orange pumpkin Mishkin ;)
This month we have a real visual treat for you.
Our next single from THE WORLD CONSPIRES is going to be the epic rock ballad "Lady Grey".

We've been working with Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art on this one, a talented animator and lyric video creator.
Earlier this year we just gave him the song and the concept and he's come back with a masterpiece!
His video work is really worth checking out, it's not full on animation but beautiful to watch. He works with some pretty amazing bands too including SkinDred, Otep and Rotting Christ, nice to be amongst some names here too.
Anyway, this song deserves a bit of an explanation.
I'll start with the lyrics...
Lady Grey
She walked into the open arms
Of a city laced in grey
Her shadow fell upon their farms
Feet heavy as they tread
She lassoed up those city folks
With a clicking of her tongue
And made their dreams vermillion
And blackened by the sun
In our lost lonely cage
In the absence of grace
We were shadows
In our trust uniteth
For the faithful mind is
Circles five by art
For my Lady Grey
A sighting at the city gates
Was not enough to scare
The children lay awake in bed
For her name they do not dare
To ricochet her memory
Or drag it through the mud
Her name like nightmare reverie
To curse the royal blood
In his sleep he would stray
To the place where she lay
Bloody fingers
In her grave she remains
But the ghost of her pain
It will linger, he screams
The morning came in mockery
A guilty sky in grey
The sun rose up like calgary
Lit where the bodies lay
I come to claim their innocence
For my sister and my son
My love will wander back to me
And all my sorrows one
She’s my Lady Grey
---
We based the song on the character Lady Catherine Grey who was a prisoner in the Tower of London. She had two children whilst in imprisonment by her lover Edward Seymour (also a prisoner) and died young (so the story goes) of a broken heart.
This song was written by me and Garry on the long road through the Nevada Desert in 2017, on one of our longest and most insane tours - this is when the album was forming and the world was indeed conspiring against us.
That tour included hurricanes, floods, riots and an earthquake. Shows were cancelled. We got stuck more than a few times. It was gruelling, but kind of beautiful in it's own way.
The song is about Lady Catherine exacting her revenge upon the entire city and the royals who were responsible for her life of unhappiness.
I also pushed my vocals harder than previous recordings. I'm pretty proud of it ;)
We hope you like it.
Love & Feathers,
