Some Velvet Morning when I'm... straight

Happy 2016! I hope your January is going well… it’s pretty cold in england right and I just got back from a trip to Sri Lanka so I’m really feeling the freeze, brr!

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet lately but I’ve been having some much needed rest after the craziness of last year, and now I’m ready to seize 2016 by the balls. 

So, this month’s “thing” is a duet that I did with my good friend and musician Oli Spleen, and it’s cover of Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood’s Some Velvet Morning. This is one of my all-time favourite songs and I’ve always wanted to cover it. 

Funnily enough, and without knowing it, Oli also wanted to cover it with his band Pink Narcissus. He asked me to pick a suitable song and when I suggested it… well, fate.

We made the video ourselves using a green screen and some high-tech (lol) backdrops… we wanted to keep it as trippy and vintage looking as the original which you can view here... it involves a beach, and a horse, and some rather amazing outfits from the 70s haha.

So... hope you like our version of the song!

We've got a really exciting year mapping out, including a solo record from myself released June, and a full album from us after the summer... we've booked a European tour, several UK dates and we just might make it to America in September too! Exciting times ahead!
