Cheyron Mods Goes Independent

Hi everyone, I am announcing today a new path for my modding journey and hope you all can join me.

I have decided to start releasing updates for my mods and new mods going forward independently here through Patreon. My mods currently available on Nexus will not be going anywhere and many are working for v1.2.11 Bannerlord. I will however be focusing on my Patreon now.

There will be tiers for different levels of support and all tiers have access to my mods and support. My mods that are on Nexus will always be available and many currently work on v1.2.11 so free members will also not be left out.

"Why Cheyron?"

My goal when I started modding Bannerlord was to honestly just try to improve the game and if I could share it with the community, I was happy. I never had thoughts of PayPal donations, starting a Patreon or how I could capitalize on it. My goal was to just give players a better experience and improve the Bannerlord community.

I was a bit naive to amount of work and commitment from me it would require supporting my mods, as the number of mods I have contributed to the community and abandoned mods I adopted resulted in me taking on another full-time job. I believe I have around 50 files on my Nexus profile. There were periods in my Bannerlord modding career where I was working on this game, 8+ hours a day, 7 days a week. This is not fun work either.

Most of the work does come from support. I always wanted to help all my mod users and never leave people hanging in the comments sections of my mod pages or youtube videos. I remember being a mod user and how it felt to be confused about coding or installing stuff, so my goal was to always reply to anyone who commented on my mods. Anyone who showed interest in my work, I would always try to make time for them. I always checked my mods daily to answer questions or respond to bug reports, which often, I addressed immediately. The amount of work did catch up with me and it did start affecting me.

"What else is new?"

Recently I have been contacted by the project lead of A Dance of Dragons to join their coding team which is an amazing alternative to Realm of Thrones and is already showing a very promising future. Very excited to be there so check them out and say hi in their Discord to me.

I am also going to partner with the developer of Realms Forgotten, which is another amazing overhaul inspired by ... Forgotten Realms D&D.

In both teams I will be looking to integrate many of my mods to enhance the experience of their overhauls. These mods have amazing followings, and I am excited to see how I can help make the mods better as part of the team and partner, respectively.

If you read this far, you are awesome. Thank you and happy gaming!!
