This is fine...

A rather quick update between starting a short lunch break: I am experiencing heavy workloads from my daily job with working hours in the region of 60/week instead of the targeted 30 as I am handling several high priority tasks at the same time with a substantial demanding end date.

I originally planned to further push the update lingering in queue for the VTTA toolset alongside the support of several finished adventure modules, but knowing that I cannot follow up on any user reports resulting in those updates due to time constraints, I am postponing those to coming weekend.

Thank you for your understanding,

Sebastian

Olive branch seems like a strange wording for me. Non-functional, you say? I am using the tools during development all the time and can't say that they are non-functional. Can you detail that a bit for me? But yes, the project will change into a community-driven, open platform. This was part of the plan for the relaunch and is just postponed to a later date that I would have liked it, too.

Will you be extending an olive branch to the subs by lowering the sub cost while VTA isn't functioning?

Part of the next update is compatibility with 0.8.x. I am currently finalizing the adventure modules, which will take a couple of days until they are done. Initial investigation about the changes in 0.8.x are somewhere in "It doesn't seem to be that hard" and "I need more docs to actually understand the changes", but I am positive that we will not have a hard break transitioning from 0.7.x to 0.8.x, having one module supporting both versions down the road.

Forge will always be requiring special attention. All I can say atm is that the Forge worked perfectly fine since I spent several days adjusting to the different takes and adjustments they undertake vs a regular Foundry VTT install. Honestly, too, this is cumbersome and I could take it lightly, saying that I support vanilla Foundry only. Support and an official announcement like "Working on Forge" can only be a snapshot reality since they change things around without consulting me first. In regards of disappointment, I would have loved to continually work with you on the new tools, instead I wrote strategic papers, led some harsh negotiations with a software supplier and helped build a new infrastructure in order to enable staff and students to actually continue their studies. I know that this is unrelated to you and I know that you are deserving a better quality that I can offer at the moment - but hey, that's how it is. I am making it rather clear, everywhere, that this is somewhat of a hobby, and not a job for me. Still, I will make and announce significant changes to reflect the current state and offer a solution to the main issue here, too. Please allow time until the weekend for this.

I am, and I will be shortly.

Is Primate making an adventure importer? I just want a confirmation because I've been keeping an eye out for alternatives in case this ship sinks.

Also pulling my support for the reasons above. I use Forge and have been told the new .io would work with it soon (back in April) after another month of the original VTTA stopped working and the community had to make a workaround instead. Pretty terrible experience with this so far and too many promises that are failed to come true.

Also pulling my sub, for the reasons stated above.

Yah...I can't help but feel the same way as you guys do. I have several Patreon that I follow for equivalent levels of support or even much cheaper that are FAR more active in terms of developer updates and feedback. The promise of adventure importer was enough to get me here, but w/o any new updates...I'm afraid I too will likely cancel after this month is up. Mr. Primate will likely have his Adventure importer out very soon, and it will be free and not locked behind a Patreon subscription. The other DnDBeyone integration Sebastian is providing isn't really worth the subscription to be honest...an again use Mr. Primates Addons for most of that utility.

I may come back if you ever get it working again. For now, I'm pulling my support. I've had to find replacement tools consistently for months now. I understand being busy - I have a day job too. In fact, that's why I used this tool. But you're being paid a lot of money here. I'm not unreasonable, but I'm to the breaking point. Hope you get your stuff working again before you lose a large part of your community. You'll have die-hards still, I'm sure... and I'm not unkind for leaving. Just realistic.

At $12,000 a month I would think that we could get an update more than every three months. It is pretty ridiculous that people are paying $140,000 a year and you can't prioritize this work.

Should we hold off on upgrading to the .8.x.x version?

SilentStriker

Ciao Seb. Yup yup, would you be able to give us rough schedule? In my defense I am a brand new user ;)

I just joined him today and I was thinking the same. Clearly there should a way for this guys to make some solid profit. I mean... if the creator of Foundry VTT and Seb would make a partnership with for example... DND Beyond you could go to the next level... easily

Hello Sebastian, Are you able to toss us any updates?

Kolentiv

YOu're making 12K a month here and you're still working a day job??

While I appreciate how I've been able to use some of the VTTA modules in the past...I might be at the point where I'm finally giving up and cancelling. I need more than silence and the developer disappearing. The new tools don't yet have the functionality of the old tools, and we're back to radio silence and no progress yet again. I've experienced this too many times, for too long.

Any updates on this? We're just short of a month out.

Jake Daniels

Don't forget to take care of yourself.

I totally understand the demands that work can put on you. You are not alone and keep in mind, some of us, like me, are willing to help convert the maps ... just need the tools to assist. Maybe a beta release to a couple of us can help ID 'bugs' and at the same time help get maps upgraded.

Kolentiv

Do what you need to do, brother. We'll wait. And THANK YOU for letting us know!

iotech

OMG! How come you still have a daily job? I thought patrons were all you needed! ;) Thanks for the update and keep up the good work(s)!

NoBSip

Thanks for the update. Health and sanity come before Foundry! Take your time!

Robert Revesz

Thanks for the update!

But at least you have a job, so that’s a plus :) and don’t worry I am sure no one will die of overanticipation until you get to work on vtta.
