Hey everyone,
First off, I wanted to say thank you all for the continued support despite the embarrassing lack of updates.
Last week, I started writing a little memoir. It’s about coming out, and diving into the world of Grindr. The words are still in progress; it’s been difficult to find the right ones. This one has consistently given me problems.
The first image was dull, and didn’t get the spirit of the character.
The legs in 2 felt awkward…in 3, the kid and the angle of her hand felt awkward as well.
I’m settled on everything in 4, and excited to get to inking and share the process of that as well.

Here are the inks for the first 4 pages of Dead By Daylight Issue 1.
The script opens on a nightmare sequence that I wanted to feel chaotic, and kinetic.
I tried to incorporate oddly shaped panels to make things feel uneasy, and otherworldly, and slowly build to page 4‘s panel breaks.
Nadia, the writer, suggested breaking up panels in the final page of the nightmare with some tendrils of the Entity. That was fun and challenging to try to make work.

I got permission to share any and all art for issue 1 after it drops, so I’ll be doing some process photos and write ups for the decision making process.
I’ll go through each issue, start with the script, go into thumbnails etc.

I’m starting to lose faith in this illustration, but I’ll wrap it up this week, and then I’ll have the process video the following week. It’s going to be a real messy one cause I jumped around a LOT.

This book is getting made, we got picked up at a publisher. I’m super excited to get to craft something like this, and I’m excited to get to show some pages off, and for details to get revealed and allllll that. Anyway.

Didn’t take a process video, but you can see in the first sketch I focused on gesture. Thought the boot shapes just worked so I didn’t do much to that area in the next step.
anyway. I’ve gotta go ink like 30 pages.

She won a poll on Twitter, so I’ll be developing her for fun, and for your pleasure.
in my head she’s got stretchy limbs, dangly bracelets covering her arms as a sorta armor. More and more I’ve been thinking of my designs with motion in mind, what would look cool with movement, and shapes to exaggerate that on paper so, there’s a little insight into what I think about when making these dumb little characters.
